Red Onion State Prison inmate Kelvin Brown, 37, sued the warden and other prison officials after numerous issues of the weekly Islamic newspaper The Final Call were banned beginning in 2009. The Department of Corrections bans material it says promotes violence or is detrimental to safety.

We've been told there are so-called moderate Muslims who deplore terrorism and that Islam has been hijacked by extremists. If there are in fact moderate Muslims, they have been quiet as mosque mice regarding their positions. For example, Americans don't know if moderate Muslims recognize Israel, what they think about women's rights, or if they believe the proposed New York City mosque should be moved to another location out of concern and sensitivity for the families of the victims of 9/11. We also don't know if there are other freedom-loving and freedom-fighting Muslims who respect the rights of others to...

It appears that NPR came under pressure from a Muslim hate group with ties to HAMAS: the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR petitioned NPR to punish Williams for exercising his First Amendment rights under the U.S. constitution. As it turns out, CAIR and NPR have a pretty cozy relationship, something American taxpayers should be concerned about:

Jihadist organizations, including Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood, have infiltrated America and are carrying out successful influence operations directed at our government and media. Judging from the results, our media is both clueless and sympathetic to the Jihadists’ efforts and our government is so eaten up with political correctness that our elected officials seem powerless to do anything about what amount to enemy espionage and influence operations inside of the halls of power.

Qatar Islamic Bank, the leading Shariah-compliant financial institution in Qatar and owner of the largest Shariah-compliant banking network in the world, has been chosen as the Bank of the Year by the Arabian Business Awards. We at SFW are certainly not celebrating this occasion, but we bring it up for a very good reason. Though you wouldn’t know it from visiting Qatar Islamic Bank’s web site, because they choose not to disclose their Shariah advisory board there, the chairman of the bank’s Shariah Advisory Board is none other than Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a man we have referred to in the...

OIC Secretary General condemns publication of the Book “Tyranny of Silence” The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu today strongly condemned the publication of the book entitled “Tyranny of Silence” in Denmark. The OIC Secretary General expressed his dismay and disappointment at the release of the book despite the fact that he and some...

Radical Islamic groups are conducting an unseen, nonviolent “civilizational jihad” against the United States and other Western nations, a speaker told a session of the Ascension GOP Roundtable Thursday. Those groups are trying to invoke shariah law in the courts to bring those nations under the strict legal code, said Chris Holton, vice president of the conservative Center for Security Policy think tank in Washington, D.C.

On the day of the assault, Salim lured Officer Pepe into his cell, and Salim and Mohammed then attacked the corrections officer. Salim knocked Officer Pepe down and sprayed hot sauce into his eyes in an attempt to blind him. When Officer Pepe continued to resist the assault, Salim took one of the knives that he had made and shoved it into Officer Pepe's left eye. This brutal assault caused horrific injuries to Officer Pepe, including blindness in one eye and partial blindness in the other, and resulted in his confinement in a wheelchair, difficulty in speaking, and requiring nearly...

On August 3rd, plans for a mosque to be built 600 feet from the site of New York City’s ground zero cleared the last municipal obstacle, causing New Yorkers and Americans in general to completely and utterly lose their minds. The mosque and Islamic center is being accused of, at best, being in poor taste, and at worst, funded and crafted by terrorist organizations. Now, it may be clear to some that this country, being founded on freedom of religion, should exhibit some form of tact and tolerance in this case as well as hearing the millions of American Muslim...

There is a term which you may have seen or heard mentioned in the news, the blogosphere or on talk radio lately that you should know more about: Shariah. (Sometimes spelled Sharia or Shari’a, as well as some other variations.) Readers of The Hayride may also be interested to learn that Louisiana is actually at the forefront of the fight against Shariah.

The soon-to-be constructed Ground Zero mosque has generated a lot of controversy. There seems to be a general level of confusion as to what this is all about. There shouldn’t be. The Ground Zero mosque is about Islamic supremecism and conquest. It’s really quite that simple–and this is not a new phenomenon, as evidenced by these videos posted on YouTube by an individual going by the alias “mujahadeen911.”

When five young men disappeared from comfortable lives in America last fall and showed up in Pakistan hoping to wage jihad against American troops, all eyes shifted to their community mosque and youth group for answers. The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), a leading Muslim American organization which oversaw both the mosque and the youth group, claimed no connection to the radicalization that drove these young adults to seek violence. In the wake of this story, other national Muslim organizations announced plans for anti-radicalization programs. But no such announcement came from ICNA, perhaps because such a campaign would stand...

This week the US State Department released its “Country Reports on Terrorism 2009,” which includes details on state sponsors of terrorism, of which Iran is obviously at the forefront. We have pasted the entire section on Iran below, but will preface it with a few comments. Much of the report is a rehash of last year’s report and, unfortunately, this is a pattern we have noticed in this State Department report for some time now. Very few new facts seem to emerge from this report and the language is quite similar from year to year.

Upon completion of the traffic stop, Helou traveled to the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Sulphur in an attempt to retrieve his license plate. After being denied his license plate, Helou called the Vinton Police Department and threatened to "blow up" the police department. Officials with the...

You probably didn’t hear about it, but Muslim youths rioted in Grenoble, France, on July 16, sparking some of the worst instability the country has faced since the 2005 riots. Now, like then, most of the media declined to mention the religious or ethnic background of the rioters, instead painting them as unruly youngsters and covering the eyes of the public to the slow dissolution of France as we know it. The violence began soon after a Muslim robbed a casino and opened fire as he tried to flee the police, who then shot and killed him. This apparently raised...

Honor killings may not be on the big screen, but a celebrity angle is getting them big coverage. Sometimes, only a celebrity angle can get the public to pay attention to what's important. The Harry Potter actress who suddenly became subject to Sharia law may be the source of such a moment when the public pays enough attention to create a sea change in national opinion.
