…I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.(Psalm 2:7-9)In its original context Psalm 2 is a coronation psalm. Israel is the Son of God, therefore the King of Israel, who is the embodiment of Israel, is a Son of God. God has appointed the King, and...

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney was giving his post-game interview after his 12th-ranked Tigers took down the fifth-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish 24-22, and then got cut off during the middle of his interview. Swinney was in the middle of thanking “the good Lord” when the camera suddenly cut to the ESPN studio with the two anchors completely unaware and checking their tablets for almost 15 seconds before cutting back to the interview. ESPN senior director of public relations Keri Potts shortly tweeted out an apology, saying it was an “error in TV transmission.”

The Race—The Christian Life. (HEB 12:1-3, 1CO 9:24-27). Three years before the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus the Roman, an unknown author wrote a letter of warning and encouragement to the Hebrew believers in that city. In a time of impending national crisis, this author reminded these believers that their only safety was in individual orientation to and pursuit of the plan of God. In Hebrews 12, he compares the Christian life to a race and Christians to athletes who, if they want to experience the ecstasy of victory, will have to endure the agony of training for and running...

I vowed to banish from my life the weakness of taking for granted the countless blessings a loving, heavenly Father bestows upon me every day. I vowed to express my love for Him with what matters most: a thankful heart Work had been demanding. I needed the upcoming Thanksgiving break; I needed to sleep late; I needed to enjoy good food; I needed to be with family. But then, what I saw in a hospital parking lot made me realize what I needed most of all: a thankful heart. I watched a family loading a small boy into a van....

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth....

On Tuesday night's (Nov. 26) "The Voice" live show, the Top 8 contestants performed "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?," backed by Seattle's Starbucks Chorus, a vocal group that raises money for local charities. But after the performance, the Twitterverse erupted with complaints that the word "Lord" was dropped from the lyrics. Backstage, "Voice" coach Blake Shelton was still trying to get to the bottom of why it happened. "I don't know what, uh -- how it happened, or -- I'm learning about it just like you guys are," Shelton tells Zap2it. "I was sitting in my chair singing that song...

I normally spent first hour of day in office with the Lord and write down something my heart expresses at that moment, the loving dialogue like the ones I now send you. The ideas are not original in the sense that they are all originated from divine inspiration. Empty yourself completely of all thoughts especially on self to be filled with Christ. The last couple weeks of my life have been divine to the point I no longer consider this current life as significant. While living in it, I try to preserve my heart to the Lord only because I...

Jamie Foxx caused some controversy when he referred to President Barack Obama as "our lord and savior" at the 2012 Soul Train Awards, but the Academy Award-winning actor is defending his actions. Foxx, 44, drew criticism from the likes of Bill Donohue, President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, and Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in California. Donohue has been vocal about protesting Obama's policies like the HHS Mandate and released a statement calling Foxx's remarks "startling." "It just goes to show that even though Obama did not succeed in stopping the oceans from rising (as...

Jamie Foxx called President Barack Obama “our lord and savior” while presenting at the2012 Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, Nev. “It’s like church over here. It’s like church in here. First of all, give an honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama, Barack Obama,” Foxx said. The comment by the comedian and actor was received warmly with shouts and applause from the audience. Foxx has long been an advocate for Obama, as have many other celebrities, such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Eva Longoria and George Clooney. Jay-Z performed at Obama’s final rally in Ohio prior to his...

COMMENTARY | The latest attack against Newt Gingrich accuses him of the worst thing a Republican can be. Apparently, despite his assertion that he was a loyal lieutenant to President Ronald Reagan, Gingrich was "insulting" to Reagan on a number of occasions. Leading the charge on the theme of "Gingrich was an enemy of Reagan" is Elliott Abrams, who was an assistant secretary of state in the Reagan administration. .. To be sure, the speech seems off-putting considering subsequent events, such as the fall of the Soviet Empire. But was Gingrich really an enemy of Reagan? William Jacobson at Legal...

As I reported yesterday, at least a few former Reagan administration officials say that, in his campaign comments, Newt Gingrich has rewritten the history of his relationship with Ronald Reagan. Today, a number of counterbalancing voices say those officials — and not Gingrich – are the ones who are shading the facts. On Fox News, for example, Ed Rollins, Ronald Reagan’s national campaign manager, described Gingrich as one of “the most important players and most loyal to Ronald Reagan”:

As Islamists increasingly look to real estate as a means of planting their flag and forwarding their agenda, it is worth noting the revelations that depict some of America's most prominent Islamist-leaning developers and property managers as agents of urban squalor. An October 23 article in the New York Post reports that the head of the controversial mosque project near Ground Zero "can't take care of a rat-ridden apartment building with just 14 units": Sharif El-Gamal, the main developer behind the mosque, has nearly 400 open violations that he has refused to fix despite a court order. His company owes...

Commit Thy Way unto the Lord By Elder Jerald L. TaylorOf the SeventyJerald L. Taylor, "Commit Thy Way unto the Lord", Ensign, July 2003, 54 How can we strengthen our commitment to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? Some time ago I presided over a stake conference in Momostenango, Guatemala. Prior to the conference, I was surprised when stake president Francisco Rosales recommended that the Saturday meetings be held in the morning instead of in the afternoon, when these meetings are usually scheduled. When I asked the reason for the change, President Rosales said it was safer for the people to travel...
