Last week we criticized the Internal Revenue Service for revealing the names of hundreds of taxpayers in its tax-shelter lawsuit against KPMG. Then on Monday we published two carefully worded letters from Treasury, IRS and Justice Department officials involved in the dispute acknowledging "missteps" and promising that it won't happen again. NEW YORK -- WorldCom Inc.'s accounting woes are likely to widen as investigators and auditors seek additional evidence of financial misstatements that extend beyond the $3.8 billion the company disclosed earlier this week, according to people familiar with the matter.
