The European Parliament will next Thursday (27 November) add its voice to the debate on whether EU states should recognize Palestine. The motion was initiated at the 11th hour by the left-wing GUE and S&D groups in the EU assembly. It is too early to say what the final text of the resolution will propose. The GUE group’s draft text “urges all EU member states … to recognize the State of Palestine on the basis of the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as the capital”. …

Israeli police seized a massive shipment of firecrackers, swords, tasers and other weapons at Ashdod port Thursday - a potentially deadly arsenal which was set to be delivered to Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem. Two containers intercepted by authorities at the southern port were packed with 18,000 fireworks, 5,200 commando knives, 5,500 tasers, 4,300 tasers concealed in flashlights, 1,000 swords and several thousand other "cold" weapons. The lethal cargo was hidden under a layer of Christmas decorations, and had been shipped in all the way from China. The weapons were in all likelihood destined to be used against police and Jewish...

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip celebrated an attack on a Jerusalem synagogue that left four dead and others wounded on Tuesday. Two Palestinians armed with a meat cleaver and a gun carried out the attack at the synagogue before being shot dead by police. Gazan revelers in Rafah handed out sweets and brandished axes and posters of the said perpetrators in praise of the deadly attack. Palestinian radio reports described the attackers as "martyrs" and Hamas praised the attack. Loudspeakers at mosques in Gaza called out congratulations. However, there was no direct claim of responsibility.

Yossi Dagan, the head of media relations for the Samaria Regional Council filed a formal complaint Tuesday with the Government Press Office against a CNN reporter for equating the terrorists involved in the HAR NOF massacre with the victims. According to Dagan, American CNN reporter Ben Wedeman was responsible for the headline describing the massacre under the headline. "Israeli police shot dead to Palestinian civilians" - when in fact, the shooters were Palestinian terrorists who killed four Jews and wounded eight others and they prayed the morning service before being killed in a gun battle with police.

Before the final votes were counted on election night, the Progressive political action committee J Street was scrambling to save face. Failing to win competitive races and losing some of their strongest allies the self-declared “pro-Israel, pro-peace” group is taking chutzpah to a new level with the hope of convincing its donors and activists they still matter. As the J Street spin machine was declaring victory Wednesday morning, I was reminded of my father’s timeless observation: “Only in America can you get blown out in an election and still tell people you won.” That is exactly what J Street is...

By Joel Leyden Israel News AgencyJerusalem — November 18, 2014 … In one of the most twisted news reports I have ever witnessed from a “Western” based media outlet, MSNBC blamed Israel today for the bloody, Islamic terror attack in Jerusalem. Jihadists attacked innocent Jews at prayer in Jerusalem today with a pistol, an axe and a knife. They murdered four Rabbis and critically wounded several others. MSNBC in reporting the barbaric attack stated that it was the result of Palestinians being “unhappy with their lives” in the West Bank. What planet are the producers of MSNBC on? The Israeli...
