HORSHAM, Pa. (CBS) — A youth sports volunteer in Montgomery County is accused of sexting over social media with a young boy he met while refereeing a basketball game. Officials say 21-year-old Kevin Barron, of Horsham, reached out to a 12-year-old boy following a basketball game he refereed on Dec. 17 that the alleged victim was part of. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office says Barron, who is an elementary education major at Campbell University in North Carolina and a student teacher, started having conversations with the boy about basketball and his performance, but then they started turning sexual in...

A Catholic mother who was brutally murdered by a gay man because she challenged him about his homosexual lifestyle “died as a martyr for her faith,” according to Bishop Thomas Paprocki, head of the Catholic diocese in Springfield, Ill., who also said the woman’s “murder was widely ignored by the media,” apparently for political reasons. The woman, Mary Stachowicz, a 51-year-old mother of four children and devout Catholic, was beaten, stabbed, raped, and strangled to death by then-19-year-old Nicholas Gutierrez on Nov. 13, 2002. He then wrapped her body in plastic and stuffed it under the floorboards of his apartment....

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has used $23,000 in campaign funds to pay the top Washington ethics lawyer, Stan Brand, who is fighting his case before the Senate ethics committee, according to Craig’s latest filing with the Federal Election Commission. No additional legal expenses appear in the report, but they eventually will. Craig, according to his office, has decided to use his campaign committee for attorney fees related to his criminal defense in Minnesota as well. “A better read (of the latest report) is that Stan Brand bills more quickly,” Craig’s spokesman, Dan Whiting, wrote in an email. The report covers...

I hear many gawk, as if the front door is an invisible line of wealth and status. To the contrary, many high...

As America is being forced to address the legality of gay marriage, the two core issues surrounding this lifestyle - the causes and morality of homosexuality, are also being discussed once again. What...

November 14, 2003 -- It was do or die for "Taboo" last night, as Rosie O'Donnell's troubled musical starring Boy George debuted on Broadway. The glitzy show, about the androgynous London club scene of the early '80s, opened at the Plymouth Theatre following weeks of less-than-stellar previews.

When America's Roman Catholic bishops meet in Dallas on June 13, they will have a lot to talk about. Finding better ways to respond to allegations of child sexual abuse will be at the top of the agenda, as well it should. But the bishops should also give careful consideration to the link between homosexuality and child sexual abuse. As the scandal in the Catholic Church has unfolded, it has grown increasingly clear that boys, not girls, make up the vast majority of those sexually victimized by (exclusively male) priests. At the same time, there have been startling revelations of a large and powerful homosexual subculture among priests. These developments suggest that the real problem is neither priestly celibacy nor "a culture of sexual repression" (as Newsweek put it), but is instead the sexual exploitation of minors by homosexual men.
