Observers are buzzing about a series of events in the last 60 days in the case of Michael Flynn, the Trump national security adviser who on Dec. 1 pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI in the Trump-Russia investigation... ....On Dec. 12, after just a few days on the Flynn case, Sullivan, acting on his own, ordered the office of special counsel Robert Mueller "to produce to [Flynn] in a timely manner — including during plea negotiations — any evidence in its possession that is favorable to defendant and material either to defendant's guilt or punishment." Sullivan...

Mitt’s back. The former governor of Massachusetts and occasional native son of Michigan has a new persona: Mr. Utah. He’s going to bring Utah conservatism to the whole Republican party and to the country at large. Wholesome, efficient, industrious, faithful. “Utah has a lot to teach the politicians in Washington,” he says in announcing his Senate campaign. Maybe.

[snip] The aim of the factory’s work was either to influence voters or to undermine their faith in the U.S. political system, the 37-page indictment states. Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Monday that while the indictment focuses on “Russian nationals,” it gives “no indication that the Russian government was involved in this in any way.” Peskov reasserted that Moscow did not interfere in the U.S. election. Mindiyarov, who failed the language exam needed to get a job on the Internet Research Agency’s Facebook desk, where the pay was double than the domestic side of the factory. The sleek operation...

One of the revelations in Friday’s indictment handed down by Special Counsel Robert Mueller was that alleged Russian attempts to sow disunity in 2016 included the organization of both pro- and anti-Trump rallies in New York City on the Saturday after Election Day. A check of their November 12 coverage showed both CNN and MSNBC gave enthusiastic coverage to the Russian-organized anti-Trump rally that day, with live reports every hour. Correspondents celebrated the idea that it was “a love rally,” and repeated the marchers’ anti-Trump mantras, such as: “We reject the President-elect.”

The International Monetary Fund has urged Ukraine to end months of delay over the creation of an independent anti-corruption court seen as key to combating widespread graft in the country after a visit to Kiev last week. In a statement on Monday, the FundÂ’s representative in Ukraine stressed that further progress on the court, natural gas pricing, and fiscal policy changes were necessary conditions to unlock more loans from a derailed $17.5bn assistance package. Nearly $9bn has been received by Ukraine from the IMF package so far, and future tranches are seen as key to boosting the countryÂ’s economy. Goesta...

President Donald Trump expressed disappointment that the FBI failed to stop the Florida shooter, despite being informed about his dangerous behavior. “Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter,” he wrote. “This is not acceptable.” Trump argued that the FBI was wasting too much time investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, and whether or not his campaign colluded with the Russians. “They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign – there is no collusion,” he wrote. “Get back to the basics...

Thousands of supporters of the deported former Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili have marched through the streets of Kiev, demanding the impeachment of the Ukrainian president. Journalists said an estimated 10,000 people took part in the rally on Sunday, though the ministry of internal affairs put the number at about 3,000. Protesters carried banners portraying President Petro Poroshenko with a red line drawn over his face. The demonstrators chanted “impeachment”, “resignation” and “Poroshenko is a thief”. Saakashvili, 50, who had been living in exile in Ukraine, was detained by masked men at a restaurant in central Kiev and deported to Poland...

Of those arrested, 195 have criminal convictions, were issued final orders of removal but did not leave the country, or re-entered illegally after being removed, ICE officials said.

Imagine the international uproar of a cleric of any other faith spoke from the pulpit about annihilating Muslims or any other group. But this will get no notice in the establishment media, unless it becomes necessary to explain Ahmad al-Rawashdeh’s words away and compel the Infidels to go back to sleep. This recalls the notorious genocidal hadith: “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a...

President Trump broke with his national security adviser H.R. McMaster on Saturday after McMaster said that indictments in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation show “incontrovertible” evidence of Russia's election meddling. "General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!" Trump tweeted. Trump's comments come after McMaster, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, said “with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now incontrovertible”...

Trump plans to make a decision by April on the recommendation, which includes a 53 percent tariff on steel from 12 countries, including China....... Facebook has come under intense scrutiny as more information has surfaced about how Russian actors used those platforms to spread misinformation online. Facebook VP of ads Rob Goldman said Russian meddling was more to sow distrust and chaos in the U.S. political system than to specifically elect Trump.

“We are sliding back,” the Ukrainian journalist turned parliamentarian Serhiy Leshchenko warned a year ago about the arc of political reform in his country. At the time, his assessment sounded alarmist, but it rings true today. Since the 2014 Euromaidan revolution, reformers in and out of Ukraine’s government have tried to remake a fiscally troubled and deeply corrupt country into a Western-oriented, rules-based one, but have only partially succeeded. Ukraine’s future as an independent and sovereign state will depend as much on winning its internal war on corruption and fixing its broken government as on keeping Russia contained in the...

If one needed proof that Mueller’s investigation was an utter farce, they were in for a treat this morning when the Deputy Attorney General announced the indictment of thirteen “Russian trolls,” for allegedly interfering in the 2016 Presidential election by posting on social media accounts. Laying Mueller’s disregard of the First Amendment aside, the indictment is blatantly hypocritical in light of active social media intervention by pro-Clinton David Brock and his multi-million dollar efforts to ‘Correct The Record.’

Just when you thought the Deep State swamp couldn't get any murkier and the stench any more repugnant, we are reminded by Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton in a Feb. 13 tweet of how Robert Mueller's FBI worked with Lois Lerner's IRS to target Tea Party and other groups in the run-up to the Obama re-election campaign: @JudicialWatch lawsuit uncovered how Mueller's FBI worked with Lois Lerner's IRS to try to prosecute the very groups Obama IRS was suppressing. Another reason I don't trust Mr. Mueller – or the FBI! @JudicialWatch lawsuit uncovered how Mueller's FBI worked with Lois Lerner's IRS...

The revelations of the Nunes Memo have shaken our confidence in the FBI and the Justice Department. A law firm working for the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign hired a company called Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Donald Trump, the Republican Party candidate for president. Fusion GPS, then, paid a Trump-hating former British agent named Christopher Steele to produce 16 memos between June and November 2016 based on hearsay from Russian agents. Almost everything about Trump in the memos—later called the dossier—was demonstrably false, but high ranking people in the FBI and the Justice...

"The Associated Press is admitting that they were lied to by a white nationalist who claimed his group was connected to the school shooter in Parkland, Florida." "Jordan Jereb, a member of white nationalist group “Republic of Florida,” claimed on Wednesday that Nikolas Cruz, the shooter that killed 17 people at a Parkland high school, was a member of his group and participated in paramilitary drills with them. The Associated Press ran with Jereb’s claims, leading a number of outlets to publish blurbs of their report." "However, Jereb later backtracked on his claims and said he was “confused” because there...

One of the overarching questions about Russia’s online campaign to destabilize the US election is just how effective those social media efforts really were. Well, according to special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of 13 Russian citizens and 3 entities, Russian trolls were persuasive enough to get at least one US citizen to stand up and wish their boss a very special happy birthday. The indictment says they used a social media account to arrange “for a real US person to stand in front of the White House…under false pretenses to hold a sign that read ‘Happy 55th Birthday Dear Boss.'”...
