The State Department has admitted that an official intentionally deleted several minutes of video footage from a 2013 press briefing, where a top spokeswoman seemed to acknowledge misleading the press over the Iran nuclear deal, Fox News reported Wednesday. “There was a deliberate request [to delete the footage] – this wasn’t a technical glitch,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said, in admitting that an unidentified official had a video editor “excise” the segment. The State Department had faced questions earlier this year over the block of missing tape from a December 2013 briefing. At that briefing, then-spokeswoman Jen Psaki was...

In case you missed it over the weekend, National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes admitted in a lengthy New York Times Magazine profile that the Obama administration used the media to manipulate and lie to the American people about the nuclear deal with Iran. Here is one of the lies pushed by the administration, which David Reaboi highlighted yesterday at The Federalist. First, the lies and the denials about the negotiations. It took months before a few dogged journalists started to ask questions about the talks Obama officials were engaged in with Ahmadinejad’s regime. In February 2013, then-State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland...

State Department officials released roughly 800 of Hillary Clinton's private emails Friday evening, just hours before the South Carolina Democratic primaries begin. The 1,500 pages of emails in the latest batch did not contain any "top secret" emails, an agency spokesman said. The State Department withheld 22 emails from a trove of emails made public earlier this year because they included "top secret" information. Clinton faced a new wave of questions about her private emails this week after a federal judge ruled her top aides should be subject to depositions about their roles in setting up a personal server in...

The top Republican lawmaker on the House Science Committee issued a subpoena Wednesday to compel the Environmental Protection Agency to produce text messages and phone records for administrator Gina McCarthy. “Because EPA has refused to provide a complete production of records in response to the Committee’s repeated requests, I am left with no alternative but to issue a subpoena to compel you to produce, among other things, unredacted cellular phone billing records and e-mails relevant to the Committee’s oversight,” Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas wrote to McCarthy in a letter sent out Wednesday. Republican lawmakers have been trying to obtain...

Why are my posts about Maureen Dowd being deleted? Was posting a picture of Katherine Zeta-Jones now forbidden?

WASHINGTON – Given the moral and spiritual state of the nation, some have called it “the most important speech given in modern American history.” It was delivered by Jonathan Cahn, author of the best-selling book “The Harbinger,” Jan. 21, 2013, the morning of Barack Obama’s second presidential inauguration, at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast. The unofficial gathering, which included members of Congress, government leaders and Christian ministers, took place just one hour before Obama took the oath of the presidency. “[The address] was a prophetic exposé of America’s fall from God, a revealing of the biblical signs of judgment manifesting...

Yesterday there were reports that the Obama Administration found out that Al-Qaeda was behind the Benghazi consulate attacks within 24 hours of the assault that killed four Americans. So what was their first action? Did they secure the compound? – No, that took over a week to get FBI agents to the consulate Did they acknowledge it was an Al-Qaeda attack? No, Obama this week blamed the terror attack on a YouTube protest. Here’s what they did – They scrubbed a damning State Department memo from the internet– On Wednesday September 12, 2012 blogger Speak With Authority discovered that five...

Dear Computer-wise Freepers, I was messing around with my computer and have deleted something very serious. I now only have the "My Computer" icon and the "Recycle Bin" icons on my desktop. My wife's and my accounts were on this computer and it is the same issue with her desktop. My program folders are still there and can been by going to My Documents through another route. I can not send an icon to the desktop of any program though. In control panel, I can not go to "My programs" -- nothing shows. Can anyone help me reverse this disaster?...

COMMENTARY, by Sam Webb, Chair, Communist Party U.S.A. (10 September 2009) President Obama’s speech to Congress last night reset the debate and struggle for real health care reform. No one thought that the reform of our nation’s health care system would be easy to begin with, but what transpired recently – the fierce counter attack by the right-wing extremists, the letting loose of the demagogues of hatred, fear, racism, and division, and the digging in of private insurance companies and other sections of corporate America – proved to be a sobering reminder that the political terrain and initiative can...

Brazilian ambassador in Chile described as mere “fantasy” alleged statements by President Lula da Silva particularly offensive towards Chile, Argentine president Nestor Kirchner and former Uruguayan president Jorge Batlle. “I can assure you it is all mere fantasy”, said Ambassador Mario Vilalva in Santiago adding that “I can back my words because I happened to be at the official dinner at the Brazilian Embassy in Tokyo”, when the alleged incident took place. In a book released this week titled “Travels with the President” two Brazilian journalists, Eduardo Scolese and Leonencio Nossa wrote that President Lula in the Embassy in Tokyo...

But wait! All is not lost. The remaining comments are not gone where Deborah Howell tried to blink them out of existence. Surprise, surprise, surprise! (Gomer style). They just went somewhere else where you have to dig to find them. You can now find those mass-deleted comments that are now cached in Yahoo search (January 17 th- 18th WaPo blog comments) while Democratic Underground has the January 19th comments archived here, and WaPo Lies have the January 15th - 16th comments archived. Those bots really do work fast. Deborah Howell simply didn't move fast enough. And funnier still, I don't...

Al Gore. State election officials ultimately declared George W. Bush the winner by a margin of 537 votes, but during and after the election dispute, questions remained about the uncounted ballots of 175,010 voters, ballots that had been rejected by error-prone tabulating machines employed in many Florida counties. Confusion and conflict, much of it generated by partisan intrigue, prevented these ballots from being counted during the election controversy. However, in 2001 every uncounted ballot was carefully examined in a scientific study by the University of Chicago, which concluded that when all the votes were counted, more votes had been cast...
