This isn’t a hard and fast rule. There are exceptions. But if you look around, for the most part, you’ll find that the scions of the successful are almost always bad news—nothing like their self-made parents. In fact, many of these scions are straight-up sociopaths—which brings me to the Cuomo brothers, Andrew and Fredo. Andrew and Fredo are the sons of the late Mario Cuomo, who epitomized what it means to be a self-made man in America. Born in 1932 to a family of grocers, Mario attended public schools, enjoyed a brief professional baseball career, attended college and then law...

A veteran television journalist accused CNN's Chris Cuomo on Friday of once sexually harassing her when they worked together at ABC News and she feels the "Cuomo Prime Time" namesake needs to "journalistically repent" for his behavior. In a guest essay for the New York Times, former executive producer Shelley Ross outlined an incident where Cuomo, who came under fire this year for giving private advice to his brother New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo during his sexual harassment scandal, squeezed the cheek of her buttock without her permission in 2005. She also produced an email where Chris Cuomo appeared to...

Embattled state Health Commissioner Howard Zucker will step down from his position as soon as a replacement can be found, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday. Zucker was a key figure in the administration of disgraced Gov. Andrew Cuomo, where critics charged he played a central role in its efforts to minimize and disguise the pandemic’s death toll across the state and in its nursing homes. “He understands that, in this time, I’ve wanted to take the first 45 days to assemble a new team going forward,” Hochul said, announcing Zucker’s departure. “That process is ongoing, and he understands and he...

During Friday night’s handoff to Don Lemon, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said that Americans are not who they were after the September 11 terror attacks, as evidenced by the unvaccinated who listen to misinformation. Lemon said, “I still look at the skyline, and you know, driving on the BQE, on the FDR, what have you, and I expect to see those buildings around every turn. And it is a reminder every day when you look that way that it’s not there, but especially today. And it’s also a reminder how much we lost, but a reminder, as well, on how...

An official federal government tally missed nearly 16,000 COVID-19 nursing home deaths that occurred during the early months of the pandemic, according to new research published Thursday. Those missing numbers account for 14 percent of all nursing home deaths in 2020, the study found. Across the 20 states with available data, the study, led by Harvard researcher Karen Shen and published in the JAMA Network Open, found that 44 percent of all COVID-19 cases and 40 percent of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes counted by state health departments went unreported in the federal data.

How has Time’s Up, a group that was formed to help women, become one defending male predators? It has been a tumultuous couple of weeks for Time’s Up, the anti-sexual harassment organization that sprang up from the #MeToo movement, and this weekend, it is suffering a mass exodus of many from its high-profile board. On Friday, a number of prominent board members announced they were stepping away from the group, including actress Eva Longoria, TV mega-producer Shonda Rhimes, and CNN contributor Hilary Rosen, along with five other names. This announcement comes quickly after the resignation of CEO Tina Tchen, who stepped...

The head of the country’s largest LGBTQ advocacy group defiantly tweeted Sunday that he will not resign over his role in ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s attempts at damage control amid a sexual harassment scandal. Alphonso David - who took over the Human Rights Campaign after serving as Cuomo’s chief counsel from 2015 to 2019 - claimed in his statement that he had been asked to step down even after an independent review found “no indication of wrongdoing.” “The board co-chairs have now asked me to consider resigning, not because of any wrongdoing, but because they feel the incident has been a...

CNN anchor Don Lemon on Tuesday during the handoff from fellow anchor Chris Cuomo criticized the unvaccinated as “selfish.” Lemon said, “If you’re not gonna get vaccinated, you don’t want to social distance, you don’t want to wear a mask, maybe you don’t wanna go to the hospital when you get sick. I know that sounds harsh, but you’re taking up the space for people who are doing things the right way. You and I both agree on this is going to be between the vaccinated and unvaccinated moving forward in this country. And I just think if you don’t...

Backed by more than 80% of the Republican county organizations in New York and certain of the ballot line of the New York Conservative Party, Rep. Lee Zeldin has so far raised more than $4 million toward a race for governor.

On his way out the door, disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued some pardons and clemencies for prisoners in the state. This is pretty standard for chief executives as one of their final acts in power, whether they’re run out of office by scandal, voters, or term limits. And it’s something that needs to end. Bill Clinton was the first known example of monetizing this effort, collecting a bunch of money to fund his presidential library by selling pardons, most notably to tax cheat and felon on the run Marc Rich. But corruption aside, the idea of lame...

As disgraced outgoing Gov. Andrew Cuomo packed his bags and sent his belongings to his sister’s house in his last days in office, he left something very important behind — his dog. Instead, Cuomo asked staff at his Albany mansion if they want to take care of his dog, Captain, the Albany Times Union reported, citing two state police sources. The sources also told the publication an Executive Mansion worker recently took Captain home but didn’t want to take care of the canine. But the outgoing governor fiercely denied the claim on Twitter — in what will likely be some...

Disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo used his last hours in office Monday to grant clemency to several convicts, including a former member of the Weather Underground who is the father of San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin. Cuomo granted clemency to David Gilbert, 75, for his role in what became known as the “Brink’s heist,” an effort to steal millions of dollars to fund the activities of radical left-wing organizations. David Gilbert is serving a 75-years-to-life sentence for his role in the crime as a member of the Weather Underground, which stole $1.6 million in cash from the armored...

Andrew Cuomo suffered another defeat Tuesday, losing the special Emmy Award he received last year for his daily, televised briefings on the coronavirus pandemic. I see that Jen, the Raggedy Doll™ currently in charge of official government propaganda, again denies reality as is her wont: The RD™ had no comment regarding the irresponsibility level involved in planning a major military withdrawal before you got American citizens, allies, documents incriminating your allies, computers containing security data, weapons and equipment out of the country. I wonder where she thinks that plan falls on the irresponsibility scale? Related loose end: I see that Biden is now considering extending the Afghanistan withdrawal deadline beyond his own August 31st deadline. Is it irresponsible to say that is no longer...

NEW YORK (AP) - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo spent his second-to-last day in office projecting an image that he is still in control, and still fully engaged as the state dealt with heavy rain from Tropical Storm Henri.
