Monday, Dec 21, 2015 06:00 AM EST The media needs to stop telling this lie about Donald Trump. I’m a Sanders supporter — and value honesty Trump's words on Mexicans have been misconstrued by all sides. This liberal, Puerto Rican professor says enough Alberto A. Martinez It’s time to start cleaning up the mess of misinterpretations about Donald Trump. Back in June, I first saw Mr. Trump announcing his candidacy for president. What he said about unauthorized immigrants seemed ridiculous so I laughed. I showed the video to friends, and I laughed again. His words were poorly chosen. But something...

A lawmaker in Huntington Park, California, has prompted outrage in the community after tapping two illegal immigrants to serve as commissioners on city advisory boards. CBS Los Angeles reported that first-year City Councilman Jhonny Pineda, himself a documented immigrant to the United States, has appointed Francisco Medina to join the city’s health and education commission and Julian Zatarain to sit on the parks and recreation commission. The move makes Huntington Park the first city in the state to appoint illegal immigrants to city commissions. Pineda, who promised when running for his seat to create more opportunities for illegals, championed the...

Donald Trump has rocketed to the top, or near the top, of the Republican-primary field by focusing on illegal immigration and border security. Depending on the poll, Trump is garnering in the high teens of Republican voters. It might be that the high teens is the ceiling for Trump, but in a field with more than one dozen candidates dividing the voting pie, that’s enormous. As the field narrows, Trump will have to expand those numbers if he is to win a primary, much less the nomination. But for now, Trump is in the driver’s seat, and his vehicle is...

Local law enforcement agencies that have “sanctuary” policies for illegal immigrants released nearly 9,000 illegal-immigrant criminals whom federal officials wanted to deport in 2014, according to government records obtained by the Center for Immigration Studies. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials issued 8,811 detainers — notices that the agency wanted to take custody of an arrested immigrant — that were defied by local law enforcement from January to August of 2014. “Sixty-three percent of the individuals freed by local authorities had prior criminal histories or were labeled a public safety concern at the time of their release,” according to CIS, which...

This tragic story has gone national and the blame game along with the finger pointing has started. Adachi(Public Defender) and Mirkarimi(SF Sheriff)are blaming the federal government and ICE but it was not the federal government that made San Francisco a sanctuary city. That was done by local politicians decades ago and has been reinforced by many current politicians including Adachi and Mirkarimi. Bottom line is a young innocent woman has been murdered in cold blood, in front of her father, by a 5 time deported illegal alien drug dealer. He is an ILLEGAL ALIEN not an undocumented immigrant and if...

Of the more than 2,200 people who received federal sentences for drug possession in fiscal year 2014, almost three-quarters of them were illegal immigrants, according to new data from the United States Sentencing Commission. Illegal immigrants also made up more than one-third of all federal sentences, that data said. The commission's data showed a slight decline in the total number of illegal alien sentences from 2013 to 2014, but still showed that the illegal population is a major contributor to federal crimes in America. In 2013, illegal immigrants were responsible for 38.6 percent of all federal sentencing, and that dropped...

July 7, 2015 Donald Trump Was Rightby John Hinderaker For the last week, I have intended to write about Donald Trump’s observation that some illegal immigrants are rapists–or, rather, about the crazed over-reaction to Trump’s undeniably true observation. We have written many times about outrages committed by illegals who should have been deported long before they finally committed crimes so horrific as to attract nationwide notice. Darron Wint and Francisco Sanchez are two recent instances of immigrants who would have been deported under any sane immigration system, but who, left undisturbed by the powers that be, eventually committed appalling murders....

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) will again introduce legislation targeting sanctuary cities, Breitbart News has learned. Hunter’s bill would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to restrict funding to any state or locality that has in place a law, policy or procedure in contravention of federal immigration law, preventing “state or local law enforcement officials from gathering information regarding the citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual.” The legislation would make those cities with sanctuary policies or laws in place ineligible for State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) funding. SCAAP reimburses states and localities for the cost of...

More than 100 immigrants the Obama administration released back into the community went on to be charged with subsequent murders, according to government data released Monday that raises new questions about whether immigration authorities are doing enough to detail illegal immigrants awaiting deportation. In one case, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) admitted its agents didn’t find out about an illegal immigrant’s death threats and court injunctions against him until — which should have put him back in detention — until after the man was accused of a new murder. That case, involving Apolinar Altamirano, is the latest instance of...

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen has confirmed to Congress that illegal immigrants granted amnesty under President Obama’s new programs could claim back refunds even when they never filed returns to pay their taxes in the first place. Sen. Chuck Grassley, who had pressed Mr. Koskinen over the issue, released written responses Wednesday ... and, in fact, illegal immigrants granted the amnesty will now be able to claim refunds on tax returns they never even filed, thanks to the Earned Income Tax Credit. “To clarify my earlier comments on EITC, not only can an individual amend a prior year return to claim...

California legislative leaders took a bold step Tuesday toward protecting immigrants living in the country without documentation by backing legislation to offer Medi-Cal and other public services to a population they said they want to help move out of the shadows. The leaders of the California Senate and Assembly joined lawmakers and advocates in announcing the “Immigrants Shape California” legislative package at a press conference in Sacramento, saying the federal government’s inaction on immigration reform forced them to act.

States Flouting Post-9/11 ID Law, Giving Cards To Illegal Immigrants That Mirror Licenses By William La Jeunesse, Jessica Miller Driver's licenses providing backdoor for illegal immigrants? Never autoplay videos After the 9/11 attacks, Congress passed the REAL ID Act to prevent foreign nationals from fraudulently obtaining a U.S. driver's license -- by requiring that any ID issued based on unverifiable foreign documents look different in "design or color" from an official driver's license. That way, TSA and other law enforcement would know the ID holder might not be who they say they are. But more than a decade later, several...

President Barack Obama’s government is inviting many repatriated illegal immigrants back to work in the United States under a deal approved approved this week by a federal judge. The deal was finalized by Obama’s deputies and their ideological allies in the American Civil Liberties Union, via a courtroom negotiation under the supervision of an Obama-app0inted judge. The deal also provided $700,000 to the ACLU for the lawyers’ fees. The lawyers had claimed that illegals were unfairly and unlawfully pressured to sign so-called “voluntary return” documents as they were being deported. The illegals should have been invited to fight repatriation via the courts, said...

Once again, local-TV investigative reporters are showing up their national counterparts. Recall that this summer the administration insisted the thousands of Central American illegal immigrants it was waving across the border would be put into deportation proceedings and those who did not qualify for asylum would be removed. You’d think, then, that there’d be bigshot D.C. journalists interested in finding out how many actually bothered to attend their immigration hearings. You’d be wrong. But the investigative unit at Houston’s KPRC, Channel 2, decided to ask. And when they didn’t get an answer, they persisted. And persisted. And finally got some...

The Los Angeles Unified School District is declaring itself a safe haven for unauthorized immigrant students and their families who may qualify for relief under President Barack Obama's executive order. At a press conference Tuesday, district officials and union leaders pledged to work together to help students who qualify access the records they need to file their applications.

Thousands of family units that recently entered the United States illegally failed to appear before immigration judges between July 18 and October 7 of this year. Documents from the Executive Office of Immigration Review provided to the House Judiciary Committee this week and exclusively obtained by Breitbart News offer a brief snapshot into the failure of certain undocumented immigrants who've been released into the United States to appear in immigration court. According to the EOIR documents, in that two-and-a-half month period from mid-July to early October, immigration judges across the country rendered 3,885 decisions on removal cases dealing with “aliens”...

The Obama Administration lied last year when they informed Congress and the public that the 2,200 people that the Administration released from incarceration to save money had only minor criminal records. USA TODAY, gaining the data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through the Freedom of information Act, reports that some of the illegal immigrants had been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and homicide.

(VIDEO-AT-LINK) Michigan toddler Madeline Reid died Friday in her parents' arms. Doctors say she'd been battling Enterovirus D-68 when her heart failed. Lab tests will have to confirm the Enterovirus was directly responsible for the death of Madeline, 4-year-old Eli Waller of New Jersey, and 4 others. Nearly 700 people, mostly kids, have been infected with Enterovirus D-68 in 46 states....
