(CNN) President Donald Trump's relentless effort to undermine Joe Biden as "Sleepy Joe" backfired this week when the former vice president delivered a forceful speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination. Now the pressure is on the President to right his own campaign as he heads into the Republican National Convention next week. Trump, a former television producer and the ultimate showman, is heavily involved in the planning for the four-day extravaganza that will give him an opportunity for a reset. He is aiming to create a more dynamic program than the Democrats with more live programming and audience interaction to...

The Democrat convention was the most boring thing I have ever seen, but it’s hard to compete with the traditional conventions, with their thousands of rabid political supporters going nuts, making noise and having fun. But now, who wants to see the same people we see on cable news everyday giving televised speeches? Trump will liven things up on his own, but does anyone have any other ideas on how to get more people to watch?

Barack Obama launched a pointed attack against President Trump during his speech at the Democratic National Convention. Unfortunately for him, his combative words exposed himself more than the President!

Joe Biden (D) experienced another brain freeze moment during the climax of his Democratic National Convention (DNC) address Thursday evening, telling the audience that there has “never been anything we’ve been able to accomplish when we’ve done it together.” While accepting the party’s nomination as its presidential candidate, Biden said the United States is facing four crises, which he is best equipped to fix after decades served in the Senate and White House. Those challenges are, in his words: “the worst pandemic in over 100 years. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The most compelling call for racial...

A weary sounding Joe Biden, who periodically managed to flog himself into a weak and shrill rage, delivered a singularly awful acceptance speech. When it wasn’t hackneyed, he plagiarized ideas and policies from President Trump and made boasts that were inconsistent with his 48 years in politics, whether as a Senator or a Vice President. The worst thing about it, though, was that he repeated a vicious, and unforgivable, slander about Trump. Here’s a short list of Biden’s platitudes: Trump is darkness. I am light. FDR was a great president. Help young people by ending Trump’s darkness. America is racist....

Much has been made of the “enthusiasm gap†between Trump and Biden supporters. The short story is that fewer than half of Biden supporters are “very enthusiastic†about supporting him compared to 65 percent of Trump supporters, who identify as “very enthusiastic.†This makes a difference on Election Day — usually. But with mail-in voting, you don’t have to motivate yourself to go out in the cold and stand in line at the polling place to cast your ballot. The most strenuous activity you’ll see in mail-in voting will be licking the stamp to post the ballot.Nevertheless, there are other...

Twitter was abuzz Thursday night after an insect twice landed on Michael Bloomberg’s face during his speech at the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

On COVID, Biden promises to enforce on day one a national strategy with testing, more resources for schools and "take the muzzle off the experts." "We'll have a national mandate to wear a mask," he says. He says the president has "failed to protect America -- and that is unforgivable." "I'll protect America, defend us from every attack -- seen and unseen," he says. Share

But as Warren addressed a topic that Americans have been struggling with on both sides of the aisle, another message popped out at viewers, as observers noted on social media. Lining the background behind Warren as she addressed the Democratic National Convention were block letters inside cubbies: B L M

Remember how Trump brought Jeb Bush low by characterizing him as “low energy”? Few major American events in my lifetime have been as low energy as the Democratic National Convention’s first night. It was the opposite of stirring, motivating, thrilling, exciting. By the time the two hours were over, America was so dehydrated it needed a saline drip. The proceedings were exactly what you’d actually watch at a quadrennial party gathering if you were in attendance, on the floor as a delegate or in the cheap seats as an audience member or the press. The thing is, normal folks have...

It’s kind of amazing. The Democratic Party has at its disposal pretty much all of the talent in Hollywood and yet their boring infomercial of a national convention makes watching tomatoes turn red look like the Super Bowl. Calling it boring is an insult to boring people who can at least be calm and soothing. The DNC is just flat out unwatchable. I’ve been wondering why, and I think I figured it out. Among the myriad jobs I had in my 20 years doing theater, one of my favorites was being a stage manager. It’s a great job. I wrote...

The Democrat Party kicked off day two off its four-day convention on Tuesday with another round of seemingly depressing speeches and performances. Those that participated in the low-energy, virtual convention, which was themed “Leadership Matters” included former President Bill Clinton, former President Jimmy Carter, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and former second lady Jill Biden. Similar to that of the first night of the convention on Monday, topics primarily focused on repetitive, boring attacks on President Donald Trump and the promotion of Joe Biden for president, as expected.

The Army is launching an investigation into the two uniformed personnel who were shown during the Democratic National Convention, the service said Wednesday. During the second night of the convention, the soldiers appeared next to delegates from American Samoa during the state roll call, prompting questions about whether they violated military rules. The Department of Defense (DOD) forbids service members from appearing in uniform at political events. The Army announced it will investigate the two service members, who are assigned to the 9th Mission Support Command, Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Emanuel Ortiz confirmed to The Hill. "Wearing a uniform to...

Jimmy Carter gave an off-camera endorsement to Joe Biden at the Democratic National Convention last night, 44 years after he himself first accepted the nomination. The former president, 95, said Biden has the 'experience, character and decency to bring us together' and hailed him as 'the right person for this moment in our nation's history' on the night that Biden was formally chosen as the Democratic nominee. Biden, 77, was already on Capitol Hill during Carter's presidential term from 1977 to 1981 and the 39th president described him as 'my first and most effective supporter in the Senate' when he...

he Democratic National Convention continues to struggle for eyeballs on television, according to preliminary data from Nielsen, which suggests that Night 2 of the event attracted just 6.13 million viewers at ABC, CBS and NBC. If the numbers hold — they're expected to be updated late Wednesday — the audience will have sunk 48 percent across the three broadcast networks compared to the second night of 2016's convention that nominated Hillary Clinton for president.

Imagine a four-day Zoom meeting in which the likes of John Kasich, Michael Bloomberg, and Nancy Pelosi warn you for the fifty through sixty millionth times about the "existential threat" of Donald Trump, and you come close to envisioning both hell on earth and what we're all in for this week with the Democratic Party's Biden/Harris virtual coronation. The alternative is to start drinking early. The 2020 DNC represents the culmination of one of the most exhausting, repetitive, and depressing primary races America has seen. It was extreme both by number of candidates – the official count seems to be...

by Samantha Foster When they were handing out speaking slots for their convention this week, Democrat leaders thought it would be a good idea to diss rising far-left progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez by giving her just 60 SECONDS to speak. I'm pretty sure they are now regretting that decision -- BIGLY. That's because AOC (D-NY) used her one minute of time to SNUB presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden --- and instead to nominate Bernie Sanders for president. Ocasio-Cortez began by stating, “Good evening, bienvenidos, and thank you to everyone here today endeavoring toward a better, more just future for...

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) featured Elizabeth Warren on its Native American panel Tuesday on the second day of its virtual convention... The Cherokee Nation, long offended by Warren’s ancestral claim to tribal ancestry, demanded Warren apologize in the aftermath of the test results and rescind her false assertions of blood association with the Native group. Warren has since apologized several times and said she no longer identifies as an American Indian. Yet still the DNC put her on its Native American panel today.
