The Chinese government is poised to become the worldwide spymaster, intimately regulating the daily activities and even the thoughts of all people worldwide. Worldwide spook mastery appears to be the true vocation of the Chinese people.A national precedent was in the Iraq of Sadaam Hussein, where such an extensive system of involuntary spying that up to 60% of the population had been shanghied into spying on all the rest.China has long employed “block grannies” to monitor the activities of every citizen. Aided by Silicon Valley Orwellian high-tech, the Chinese government is engaged in a program of monitoring the details of...

Anyone need a good chuckle? A guy made a bot watch 1000 hours of Hallmark Christmas movies, and then had it write a script. All he shared was page One, and it's pretty funny. If Hallmark doesn't option the script, this would make an awesome lego movie. A few more lines at the site.

The wall. Say those words and you need say no more. There is only one wall on America’s mind. It was even the protagonist in a White House reality show. The TV ratings were boffo! Candidate Donald Trump vowed to build the wall on the Mexican border if elected, and has had only minimal success. The migrant caravans from Central America refocused attention on its absence at key crossing points. But the wall has grown into something larger than itself. It is the ultimate symbol of Trumpism to both supporters and opponents. To supporters, the wall, combined with better trade...

SAVANNAH — (WJCL)- Wayfair is bringing 1000 jobs to our local community. The online home decor store is setting up shop in Savannah after looking at several cities. Savannah’s location and infrastructure played into the decision. The port and airport were also big selling points. The building where the company will run has been under construction and will officially open in April. Those involved in the process from the beginning are excited to see it come to life. "Any time you bring in a project that has over 500 jobs like this, it’s kind of like winning the SuperBowl," said...

When I learned GAB's domain registration for its website GAB.ai, the free speech alternative to Twitter, was being shut down weeks ago, with only a day's warning, I was outraged. I was very saddened to hear that GoDaddy was the culprit and caving in to anti-freedom forces. I have been a customer since at least 2002, probably long before. Free speech is extremely important to me, and if Gab can get shut down, so can I. So I have begun moving all of my domain registratations to Epik.com, which I have found is not only cheaper, but does NOT charge...

November 16, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Eight months ago, the pro-life organization Live Action uploaded a three-minute video clip of a young woman giving an extraordinarily powerful testimony about being raped and becoming pregnant. Jennifer Christie explained to the Iowa legislature that she’d been brutally raped while on a business trip, her bruised body flung into a stairwell after the attack. Despite the horrors she’d endured, she was not speaking for crime victims, she said. Rather, she was speaking for the 32,000 women who become pregnant after rape—and the 75% of those women “who give our children life.†Christie was representing Save...

From an office suite on the 26th floor of the iconic Frost Bank Tower in Austin, Texas, a little-known recruiting firm called Crossover is searching the globe for software engineers. Crossover is looking for anyone who can commit to a 40- or 50-hour workweek, but it has no interest in full-time employees. It wants contract workers who are willing to toil from their homes or even in local cafes. “The best people in the world aren’t in your Zip code,” says Andy Tryba, chief executive of Crossover, in a promotional YouTube video. Which, Tryba emphasizes, also means you don’t have...

If, in late 2018, you are contemplating going into quantitative finance, then keep contemplating. Panelists at the recent Quant Conference in London say you’re unquestionably on the right track. “It's super-exciting to be a quant in 2018-2019,” said one panelist (a hedge fund researcher who formerly worked for a large U.S. bank). “Everyone is hiring.” Quants’ enthusiasm for being quants might be dismissed as self-love. Except, they're not the only ones in the zone. Goldman Sachs has proclaimed its pursuit of strats (its own personal brand of quant technologists), while at another conference the week before, the head of recruitment...

In an effort to beef up the city’s tech workforce, the George Kaiser Family Foundation is offering $10,000, free rent, and other perks to remote workers who move to Tulsa for a year. “I’m a California, New York guy,” Michael Basch tells me. “I figured I’d be really bored here.” “Here” is Tulsa, the second-largest city in Oklahoma, known for its new $465 million public park, the Gathering Place, and its annual Chili Bowl. Since moving there earlier this year, Basch says that he hasn’t been bored at all. The city may be 1,640 miles and a world away from...

Amazon has been an aggressive advocate for diversity. That includes providing strong support for immigrants, minorities, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, the military, women engineers and more. When the company was searching for a second headquarters, it made diversity a key issue. To achieve long-term success, Amazon said last year, the winning city must have a diverse population and a community that supports it. Does that also mean diversity in politics, geography and even home prices? Apparently not, because Amazon chose two locales — New York City and Washington — that have a lot in common with its hometown...
