MANILA: Government forces killed a communist guerrilla leader and captured two of his wounded comrades after a gunbattle in the central Philippines island of Negros on Thursday, the military said. The slain Revolutionary People's Army (HMB) rebel leader, Lino Silvano, is wanted by police for a number of murders, extortion, and robberies, Army spokesman Colonel Jose Mendoza said in a statement.
