Ariel Dumans is a writer for the Stephen Colbert show, and has nearly 40,000 followers on Twitter. On Saturday Ariel posted this tweet following the Senate vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States. Ariel Dumas: “Whatever happens, I’m just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh’s life.
  • Trump-era politics creates turmoil, firings and, sometimes, great ratings for entertainers

[snip] A year and a half into the Trump presidency, entertainment companies are grappling with a fan base that is splintering into political factions as never before. Whether in regard to explicitly political entertainment or the rapidly multiplying number of entertainers who talk about politics, Americans appear to be increasingly figuring ideology into their Hollywood choices. Some fans, to be sure, have long been drawn to or repelled by the occasional outspoken celebrity — Jane Fonda for her antiwar views, for example. But fans are now judging a much wider range of entertainment and entertainers for the way those people...
  • Liberals attack Brett Kavanaugh for 'frat boy' name

The latest line of attack from liberals against Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, is knocking the judge for his “frat boy”-sounding first name. “We'll be DAMNED if we're going to let five MEN—including some frat boy named Brett—strip us of our hard-won bodily autonomy and reproductive rights,” the influential pro-choice organization NARAL tweeted Tuesday. Comedian Stephen Colbert of CBS’ “The Late Show” also mocked Kavanaugh’s name. “Now I don’t know much about Kavanaugh, but I’m skeptical because his name is Brett,” Colbert said during the monologue on his show Tuesday. “That sounds less like a Supreme...

CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert grilled former President Clinton on Tuesday about his recent comments about Monica Lewinsky and the #MeToo movement. Colbert asked Clinton why he appeared surprised by questions about the Lewinsky affair during a recent interview, claiming that the incident was the most famous example of workplace sexual misconduct. "You seemed surprised that that question would come up," he asked on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." "That somehow, this had all been adjudicated in the past and that there was no reason to talk about it again, when it seems that the spirit of the #MeToo...
  • Vanity - Late night TV ain't what it used to be.

"Deadline Hollywood" tells us that Stephen Colbert bested Fallon & Kimmel with his interview last evening with James Comey. They give us the percentages...but, no number of viewers. Why? Simply because there are not enough TV late night viewers tuning in to these failed shows, to talk about. Shucks, Johnny Carson used to get 9,000,000 viewers a night and once drew 17,000,000 folks watching. Even though the USA population has increased to over 330,000,000 million people,,,they just ain't watching Colbert, Fallon or Kimmel. I suspect Colbert, maybe got 3,000,000, viewers...that's one percent of the USA population. Fact is, with two...
  • Vanity - James Comey & Stephen Colbert...Tonight!!!

The ABC/Stephanopoulos/Comey interview failed and only about a paltry,3% of Americans tuned in. They say history repeats itself. If that is true, which I believe it is...tonight should be another repeat of Comey, interview failure. Tonight, James Comey blesses The CBS Late Show, hosted by Stephen Colbert. I suspect, the dialogue and presentation will be just as boring as the ABC farce, an insult to one's intelligence, and full of both Comey & Colbert ranting, raving, babbling nonsense & lies, with no meaningful, substance whatsoever. Who knows...maybe Colbert/Comey will attract 40-50 million TV viewers, I doubt it, but whatever happens...

On Easter Sunday, Stephen Colbert’s anti-Trump animated cartoon show on Showtime, Our Cartoon President portrays President Trump as desperate to increase his waning support from evangelical voters. In “Church and State” he is caught on an open mic saying to Vice President Mike Pence that he would "cut off God’s penis” if his wife were to become pregnant as Joseph’s wife, the Virgin Mary, did. He also mocks the faith of Christians, wondering, "How do grown adults still worship Jesus?"

This morning Ed wrote about the anticipated (and delivered) crash and burn of the ratings for last night’s Emmys. I suppose I contributed to that in a small way since I was watching football. In my Twitter feed, I only saw two of the conservatives I follow commenting on the show so that seemed to be a fairly common practice among our tribe. The initial scoring put them in position to be one of the worst rated Emmys outings of the modern era. This led a few timid voices to meekly suggest this morning that just perhaps the show needs...

Thanks to the Great God Almighty in Heaven, who has seen fit to bestow the grand American Republic with the likes of insane, misfit, buffoons, Hillary Clinton and Stephen Colbert...now the official destroyers of the Democrat Party, politically. They have nary a clue of the results of their insane actions, laughable at best, idiotic at worst....but keep it coming Clinton/Colbert...we, the American people love it as the the Democrat Party is destroyed politically right before our very eyes. Simply just love the self-induced suicide of what once was a decent political party...now filled with morons, idiots and clowns. Oh...and please...

The 69th Emmy Awards are looking as though they’ll be at or near an all-time low in the ratings. CBS’ live telecast of the awards is currently showing a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.58 million viewers, compared to 2.5 and 9.69 million in last year’s preliminary ratings. CBS has ordered time zone-adjusted ratings, and we’ll update this post when they come in. Last year’s ceremony finished with a 2.8 and 11.3 million viewers and was the least-watched Emmy show on record. Elsewhere, “The Orville” is currently showing fairly steady numbers vs. its premiere, although it started after 8:30...

The "EMMY Awards", dying on the vine, Colbert should join his failed Democrat Liberal Loser, sister who was beaten like a rabid dog by a "Wife Cheating Governor, Sanford in a recent congressional election. Truth be known, The Emmys are dead, Hollywood is dead, ESPN is dead and the NFL has killed itself by catering to low life Black racist, anti-Americans. As for Sean Spicer.....few words are needed to describe his actions, like traitor, turncoat & political prostitute!!! Better description of Sean.... Gold chasing whore!!!

Stephen Colbert returned to duty hosting The Late Show this week after a two-week vacation, as TruthRevolt noted yesterday, and launched into a typically juvenile and unfunny monologue pushing the left's SOP (Standard Operating Propaganda) line that President Trump and his former advisor Steve Bannon are Nazis. The Daily Beast reports that on Thursday night, Colbert addressed Steve Bannon's exit from the Trump administration. “As so many things happened, I really missed the chance to talk about some big stuff—especially the exit of White House strategist (and Proactiv ‘before’ model) Steve Bannon,” wisecracked Colbert.

When comics Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert announced their rallies on the national mall scheduled for this Saturday, they may not have expected—or wanted—an endorsement from Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers. But Ayers told the Ford Motor Company-sponsored Green Festival in Washington, D.C. last Saturday that the event will be a needed respite from the “Alice in Wonderland” world of military domination of the planet and wars waged by the U.S. “empire.” The October 30 Stewart/Colbert rallies, dubbed “Restore Sanity” and “Keep Fear Alive,” are “worth attending,” Ayers said. Ayers’ wife, Bernardine Dohrn, once labeled a “violent maniac” by a...

Remember when First Lady Michelle Obama was off-limits to political satirists? Comedians know not to cross certain lines with their jokes. Take the First Family. It’s all well and good to mock the president, but the First Spouse is a different matter. That’s how it was for eight years when First Lady Michelle Obama lived in the White House. And good for that. She wasn’t the president. It’s certainly reasonable to send a gentle barb or two her way. She’s a public figure, after all. More than that? Inappropriate. Now that Melania Trump is the country’s First Lady, all bets...

Ever heard of the freshman 15? Nowadays, some people who are unhappy with the current political environment are complaining of the “Trump 10.” We first heard this term from actress Jane Krakowski, who recently told late night TV host Stephen Colbert, “Now that I’ve put on my Trump 10, I’ve got to work out a little.” When Colbert said he hadn’t heard of the term, she replied, “You know — like the freshman 15,” referring to the weight gain typical during the first year of college. She’s not the only one. Similar complaints of politically induced stress eating have come...

A racial slur. A homophobic joke. A mock beheading. Anti-Trump comedians are having a moment — and not the good kind. (snip...) antics like these are the exact opposite of the Michelle Obama maxim: “When they go low, we go high.”
