That was a magnificent decode. And here I was thinking that “Castle Rock” was Cheyenne Mtn or Site R (Ravenrock). I like your decode far better! Thanks.
> All he did was T A L K and rehash the same old facts we already know.
Emphasis on the word “WE”.
Outside of “we”, there are a whole bunch of low-information voters hearing these arguments for the first time. I thought it was a great speech. If the Rats don’t settle for the steel barrier, they look double bad. If they do settle for it, we get the wall and the steel industry gets jobs.
He pumps up the domestic steel industry. He provides the Rats a path of retreat, while getting his wall. He is seen to offer concessions (important for low-information voters).

To declare it now would let the Rats off the hook. He would then have no justification for opposing them on the shutdown.
Let them dangle more. The wall is being built anyway.
Read on twitter that the President’s “giving up” concrete is all a show to NOT humiliate the Democrats. This is a Sun Tzu “Art of War” maxim: “Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across.”
Trump will get his wall. The reality is that the “STEEL” wall has been under construction for some time now, probably through most of his administration, but at least as far back as September:
And what does opting for steel rather than concrete accomplish? In addition to being the preferred choice of ICE, it revitalizes the US steel industry, a national security asset, which has been sorely damaged by the last 25 years of US economic policy.
I see the FISH “bait” in light of POTUS’ tweet this morning. Giving Nancy the House reins, she just won’t be able to contain herself from doing investigations and issuing subpoenas. Think mirror!
