Signal Hill police and FBI agents arrested Laurent Blumenthal Tuesday after he was indicted on charges of possession of child pornography. Court documents allege the 65-year-old placed a hidden camera in his bathroom to secretly record young boys. The allegations were in an affidavit filed in support of a search warrant executed at Blumenthal's Signal Hill home on Jan. 14. <p>At 116 reported infections this year through September, the caseload may not be overwhelming -- but the rise is precipitous. The city's department of public health reported just 39 cases in 1998, 47 in 1999 and 71 in 2000.</p>
