Did any of you guys see the opening skit on SNL, with Dick Cheney? I think it was Darrell Hammond, the guy who plays Gore and Clinton. He looked and sounded so much like Cheney, it was uncanny! I haven't watched SNL much since Phil Hartman left, but in times of crisis they can have some good skits. I only caught the last couple of minutes of it, but it was pretty funny.
  • Does anyone have that great parody of the Sgt. Pepper album cover, with Clintonian references?

I was looking at those hilarious 'Tourist Guy' photos, and recalled a masterful piece of art, I think it was by Registered. Is it OK if I ask someone to post it again? I want to show it to my wife. Feel free to send it privately if you wish to pull this thread, but I think others will get a kick out of it. Thanks!

Smallpox: An Attack Scenario Tara O'Toole Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland, USA Smallpox virus, which is among the most dangerous organisms that might be used by bioterrorists, is not widely available. The international black market trade in weapons of mass destruction is probably the only means of acquiring the virus. Thus, only a terrorist supported by the resources of a rogue state would be able to procure and deploy smallpox. An attack using the virus would involve relatively sophisticated strategies and would deliberately seek to sow public panic, disrupt and discredit official institutions, and shake public confidence ...

JAHANNEM, OUTER DARKNESS—The hijackers who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon expressed confusion and surprise Monday to find themselves in the lowest plane of Na'ar, Islam's Hell. "I was promised I would spend eternity in Paradise, being fed honeyed cakes by 67 virgins in a tree-lined garden, if only I would fly the airplane into one of the Twin Towers," said Mohammed Atta, one of the hijackers of American Airlines Flight 11, between attempts to vomit up the wasps, hornets, and live coals infesting his stomach. "But instead, I am fed the boiling ...
  • Considering the Unitarian Church -- anybody out there belong?

I know this is a vanity post, but I'm curious about something. Last December I posted a vanity titled "Are there any nonreligious conservatives on FR?". I was shocked to see it receive several hundred responses. I am, for various reasons, considering the Unitarian Church. My sister recommended it to me, knowing I don't believe in God. I am posting for guidance here, because I know most of you are clear-thinkers and won't mince words, for the most part. What I'm looking for is a sense of community with good people (much like I get online here). My family has ...
  • Are there any nonreligious conservatives on FR?

I am an Atheist, but definitely a conservative. I was wondering how tight the bond is between Conservatism and Christianity. There are times when I feel out of place among my conservative peers, because of the occasional emphasis on God. I post this not to start an argument, but to find out if I'm unusual in being both Atheist and conservative. I'm conservative because I embrace the principles of small government, self-reliance, abiding by the rule of law (rather than the self-serving interpretation thereof), and personal responsibility. Any thoughts?
