"Collegetown Creeper" Arrested In San Diego SAN DIEGO, CA - (5-5-06) Abraham Shorey, known by law enforcement as the "Collegetown Creeper," was taken into custody around 7pm near West Mountain View Drive and Adams Avenue. It was discovered that Shorey was in the San Diego area on Wednesday when police in Chula Vista stopped him, but they let him go after he gave police a fake name. The City purchased the $20,000 system to assist the sheriff's department in "identifying suspects involved in illegal activities." The cameras are mobile and can be moved to various locations. Information is sent automatically to the sheriff's department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system is expected to be deployed immediately.

SAN DIEGO, CA - A traffic collision left two people dead and two others injured Monday night. According to the California Highway Patrol, the cars were drag racing just prior to the crash. It happened around 11:30pm on SR-52 near Convoy Street.

SUSPECTED LOAD VEHICLE ACCIDENT - PINE VALLEY, CA - An accident in Pine Valley left at least one person dead and injured more than 20 Monday. It happened just after 9pm on Interstate 8 east of Sunrise Highway. Preliminary information indicates a vehicle, loaded with suspected undocumented aliens, collided with another vehicle.

SAN DIEGO, CA - The City of La Mesa is asking businesses near a smoldering trash fire to evacuate the area. The fire started early Thursday morning at the Edco Recycling Center, 8184 Commercial Street. Officials are planning a more aggressive attack of the fire and expect that to produce more smoke. The heaviest smoke is east of the actual fire location. An evacuation Center is being set up at the La Mesa Community Center. Residents in the surrounding areas are also asked to evacuate.

SAN DIEGO, CA - A San Diego judge ordered David Westerfield to stand trial for kidnapping and murdering Danielle van Dam. Westerfield's arraignment is scheduled for March 28th at 2pm.

Mr. Westerfield is charged with kidnapping and killing seven year old Danielle van Dam February 2nd of this year. Much information was revealed during the hearing.
