    Bernard Goldberg's <s>100</s> 110 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is #37) | June 15, 2006 | Starfish923
I just finished reading Bernard Goldberg's 100 110 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is #37). What a great book. I read it twice.I don't agree with everything he wrote, but I sure found out a lot about some really poisonous people in our country who are doing all they can to screw up our great country. Any suggestions as to whom any of you might add? I would add San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsome for his breaking of state law and allowing homosexuals to get married in San Francisco.

A THOUGHT FOR THE FOURTH Thomas Paine, said to be an atheist, was actually a Deist. His is the most quotable phrase-maker in American history. The essay so impressed Washington that he ordered it read to his troops. Its thrilling rhetoric quickens every heart this 4th of July holiday. “These are the times that try men’s souls: the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but...

World AIDS Day and the Rutger Hauer Starfish Association Yesterday was World AIDS Day. Has anyone here heard of the Rutger Hauer Starfish Association? It’s an interesting organization. It was founded back in 1998 by Rutger Hauer, the Dutch actor. For us Americans he is probably best known for playing the replicant, Roy Batty, in the “Blade Runner” (1982). He did “Ladyhawke” the next year, but since then he’s done few sci-fi roles. He founded the Rutger Hauer Starfish Association after he saw the plague of AIDS on the Turk and Caico Islands (British) while on location filming in the...

Sunday, September 12, 2004 •AP: Europeans to Set Nukes Deadline for Iran•EU Mulls Relations With Iran• TEHRAN, Iran — Iran on Sunday rejected demands by Europe's three major powers to abandon its uranium enrichment program but reasserted its readiness to provide guarantees it will not build a nuclear weapon. Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi (search) said Iran already has the technology required to develop nuclear fuel and would not reverse the situation. "If the demand is that we don't master nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, it's out of the question because we have reached that point," Asefi told a...
