In a move sure to spark outrage, the White House announced today that GM and Chrysler must cease participation in NASCAR at the end of the 2009 season if they hope to receive any additional financial aid from the government. Companies around the globe—Honda and Audi, to name two—have drawn down racing operations, and NASCAR itself has already felt the pinch in the form of reduced team spending. A complete withdrawal from America’s premier racing series is expected to save more than $250 million between GM and Chrysler, a substantial amount considering the drastic measures being implemented elsewhere.

First, I am not advocating this bill, I oppose it on many issues. But, one thing that I havn’t seen talked about is the possibility of what could happen to the Dems in the long term aspect of unintended consequences. It’s a safe assumption that these 12-20 million illegal (Hispanic) aliens will become registered voters and will in all likelihood vote Democrat in their local elections. We also know good and well that many more "family" members will be following soon after. It seems to me that they will over time also become VERY active in the political process once...

With his wife Ruth near death, Charlotte-born evangelist Billy Graham announced today that the couple have decided to be buried on the grounds of the recently dedicated Billy Graham Library in Charlotte.
