If, as Red said, “unfolded as the other two vehicles passed him” implies White lane shifted when passing Red. Could be Corzine’s speeding SUV got into White blind spot, and White thought it was clear to lane shift.

According to the driver “this accident [which] unfolded as the other two vehicles passed him”. The statement seems to contradict that he pulled out in front.

"The statement of the driver of the red Ford pickup indicates that he was unaware that he caused this accident which unfolded as the other two vehicles passed him," State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes said. "He stated that he pulled back onto the road and left the area, believing that he was not involved."

According to Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), fatalities per 100 Million, went down from 2.4 in 1987 (pre seat belt law) to only 1.47 in 2005. I would have expected a bigger drop considering the number of states with Seat Belt laws.

Although a child could repudiate the service agreement, myspace is still shielded from any lawsuits by the child or parent via the CDA:

Thanks. I will check into that as well. The initial goal was to find something that he can carry with him and use as needed to communicate with others. PBP stops the signals going to the muscles (in particular it starts with the tongue and throat) so when he talks, he is often gasping for air as he chokes. Having a portable communicator will ease that part of it for him. The idea of the Cap Tel phone will be good for at home.

To be fair, the question is about the representation of the software (i.e what is on a CD) versus using the software, the later requiring a computer to execute the software. The mere existence of the code may not be patent infringement, but the use of the code can be as exemplified in:

MR. OLSON [For Microsoft]: The '580 patent is a program, as I understand it, that's married to a computer, has to be married to a computer in order to be patented.

I was also denied grants/loans because my parents had two houses (theirs plus my grandmother's after she passed away). Basically I was told to *tell* my parents to take out a mortgage to pay for my education. For first 2 years I went to county college instead and worked my butt off to pay tuition by myself. My parents always wondered why I did that.

There is a perception on this thread that somehow the parents are putting all the blame on myspace when it is obviously entirely their fault. I do not agree with that agenda.

MySpace is a business with a primary goal of generating revenue from advertisements. The larger their subscriber base, the more revenue potential they have. Thus it is in their best interest to have as many subscribers as possible.

MySpace terms of agreement state:
by using the MySpace Services, you represent and warrant that (a) all registration information you submit is truthful and accurate; (b) you will maintain the accuracy of such information; (c) you are 14 years of age or older; and (d) your use of the MySpace Services does not violate any applicable law or regulation. Your profile may be deleted and your Membership may be terminated without warning, if we believe that you are under 14 years of age.

The last sentance indicates that you can be a member and have a profile, and you may lie about your age, and if we believe that you are under 14 years of age, then your profile may be deleted and your membership may be terminated without warning.

Just yesterday CNET ran a story stating "Under fire from both the U.S. government and parental organizations, MySpace.com has announced that it is creating software to give parents a window into what their children are putting on their online profiles."

Our desktop in the fam room is connected to a HP TV dual tuner that i got with an HP laptop. Since we had cable modem, I put a splitter and connected the TV tuner. The hard part was to get the right drivers for the desktop.

I had a 1-in/4-out headphone amplifier, so I connected that to the desktop as well. This way, the younger kids can watch Zac and Codey and listen on headphones while the rest of us watch the movie of our choice on the big screen TV. (BTW: the amplifier is also great for when they are playing games. We do not have to hear the audio).

I should have pointed out that Roxio does support DVR-MS format for input. The problem was that when I installed Roxio, it trashed the Media Center. The live TV display was terrible, and it installed a different UI for scheduling TV recordings that was terrible. I tried the various custom installation options, but in all cases I was not happy. So I uninstalled. After that was when MS Movie Maker started crashing, and it has never run since.

I think the program I am using is Movie Producer, but I will have to check and get back to you.

We use Media Center to record some TV sitcoms for the kids so that they can watch them on the computer. The plus side is that the UI for scheduling a recording is really great. The schedules are downloaded and the kids can point and click. The other packages require setting start and stop times, specifying channel numbers, and do not allow scrolling through a particular channel schedule. Kudos on that point.

There are several downsides. One is that the recording format is DVR-MS. I wanted to put a bunch of the sitcoms on a single DVD so I tried MS Movie Maker but did not like the UI.

So, I tried Adobe Premiere Elements, but it cannot read the DVR-MS format directly. I tried Sony's package, but that cannot read the DVR-MS format. I tried Roxio, but that cannot read the DVR-MS format. I tried a couple of others, all to no avail. I wanted something that could read the DVR-MS format directly instead of having to spend the time to read in the DVR-MS format and render in a second format that the other packages could read (rendering into a second format takes significant time).

Then I discovered that installing and subsequently uninstalling those packages kills MS Movie Maker. The install process records some info for MS Movie Maker which apparently is not cleaned up after the uninstall. It has to do with MS Movie Maker startup, not the uninstall of these other packages.

Eventually I found one program that had reasonable UI and could read the DVR-MS format. The experience was costly in terms of my time, and MS Movie Maker still crashes on startup.
