I’d say that, like me, BHO had a tough time sleeping last night because of a recurring noise.

I learned this morning that the noise was Teddy... spinning in his brass-handled Oldsmobile.

I have spent a couple of years working on a safe schools project. What I find alarming is that, in many of our schools, the administrators have no interest--no desire--in simple building security.

I firmly believe that our soft targets (i.e., malls, schools) will become graves if ANY terrorist organization pulls off an attack.

I also believe that parents who put their kids into public schools should take a high level of interest in the security of the building. Are doors left unlocked? Is there an emergency plan that is rehearsed? Are classroom doors closed and locked during class? These are basic fundamentals that would--at least--slow down an assault.

That would be the Moh-RON who let the Foley matter sit and rot until the 'Rats used it to bomb any chance we had at the election.

I agree with most of you... good riddance!

    "KN5SSA (long long long ago)"

With all due respect, it shows.

You appear to be grossly out of touch with amateur radio as it exists today. It certainly is not the same thing that it was during the 30's, 40's or 50's, but little in life is the same, is it?

Rarely does one build their own rig these days. But, experimentation with digital electronics and antenna theory are two examples of a hobby that is very much alive. In our area, new people still come to test sessions. We recently licensed several boy scouts. In recent years, I can think of three hams who were licensed at around age 9 or 10.

Oh, and many of us still relish those weak-signal CW contacts.

If you were to sit at an HF receiver and spin the knob, the fallacy of your post should be apparent to you.

"Now in stead of millions of real experts, we have one expert and millions of applicances under absolute control by the authority."

All due respect, that statement is plain stupid. Who's the "one expert" (I'm curious). Amateur radio remains to be largely under the control of and policed by its own.

"You know, ham radio went "down" in the early Clinton years. I remember a day when after one of those "seperatist" scares the entire spectrum was "white noised" out of existence for the entire day. No ham of less than General class and 1kw could transmit."

Wha???? Please do elaborate because I don't have a clue what the hell you're talking about here and I'm wondering if you really do.

I recently read a series of web articles on this topic. In many of these mooslim theocracies, women make a claim of rape and usually wind up getting punished. The woman's testimony carries half the weight of the man's. Ergo, in this case, her testimony was .5:2.0, or worth one fourth.

Just when you think our justice system is entirely off the tracks...

Definitely among the top three funniest things I've ever seen: His eulogy to Roget (a la Roget's Thesaurus). "... celebrating the life of our friend, Roget, who has departed us, passed away, yes, he's checked out, left the building, pushing up daisies, he's makin' that call from the horizontal phone booth, parkin' the bronze bus, takin' that last spin in the brass-handled sedan..." and at least 50 other descriptions...

"I can only emphasize my own honesty and integrity"

If one reviews the lengthy report, nearly every statement Mapes makes to the Panel about a conversation with someone is disputed by the other party. Her honesty and integrity (lack thereof) is very apparent.

Like her boss, this woman is a nutcase.

And to say that CBS has no clear political agenda is shallow. It is clear (and the perception of most 'mericans)that nearly everyone who works in the news division is well left of center (it's drilled into you in J-school). Because of this fact, cBS News, like all MSM is BIASED to the left.

Unfortunately, cBS's response to the report was to offer up a few middle managers as sacrificial lambs. It is unreasonable to me to justify hanging onto Heyward. At the very least, he presides over a news division who's icon show (Evening News) remains entrenched in last place in the ratings race. Moreover, it was ultimately Heyward's responsibility that this piece of manufactured trash got on the air AND that it was so pathetically defended on the air in the Aftermath.

Mr. Heyward, we'll accept your resignation as well. By the end of the day, please.

Because I've worked closely with police officers for almost three decades, and because I'm familiar with the MSM agenda, I understand the dilemna of the guys on the job and the public outrage over apparent gestapo police tactics.

Disclaimer: I've not seen the video. My comments are derived solely from the descriptions on this thread.

I've not seen anyone say this, although a few came close: police officers are trained to use only the amount of force necessary to overcome the threat or perceived threat and to secure compliance from the subject.

Having said that, what was it about this woman that caused this officer to pull her from her vehicle? Did she refuse to get out of her vehicle?

What gave this officer cause to put this woman on the ground and into cuffs? If she didn't pose a threat that rose to that level of force... bad cop.

However, things aren't always as they seem (especially from the vantagepoint of a distant surveillance cam). And the media L-O-V-E-S to get video like this and run the snot out of it with no regard for the actual facts. It gives all LEO's a bad rep.

LEO's are better trained than ever, especially in dealing with people---all types of people. There are generally much fewer thug cops on the street than there were 20 years ago. Yet, what they face in the course of doing their jobs keeps getting worse. Remember this the next time you want to lump them all in the same dumpster and label them with a pejorative term.
