"really needed that extra push...I just got a call from our co-chairperson here in lower Michigan reminding me to come and make calls. I wasn't going to...I'm so tired lately..Made house to house calls yesterday and pooped...But now I'm energized once again and I'M HEADING OUT TO THE PHONEBANK... Go Bush Go...RAh Rah..."

Go GO GO!!! Bring the sucker home! I spent my entire summer in Connecticut (a real GOP stronghold!!!!!) making the same calls. But hey I consider it a victory that we landed a UCONN poll that actually had Bush up by one point in CT! Dont get me wrong CT will go for Kerry, but its great to give the rats hell any where any way any and every day!

Bring Michigan home!... 4 more years!... its too important not to do all we can!

Want some wood... = I like this man... I like this man... I like this man!!!!!!!!!!

Likability, what all the pro-pundits scoring points just don't get. Bush gets it though, so do I, and so does the America that goes to the polls on November 2nd!

By contrast I thought Kerry couldn't quite hide his know it all, head of the class, aspect that no one likes. He was also negative, while Bush was positive.
Again, I think these are all things that pundits fail to understand. they just score these things like high school debates, and people at home may agree with that on the points, but there is more to the story that translates to how they vote.

This guy is just hoping. Did anyone see the CNN discussion with undecided voters? At least one WOMAN, the only person asked in which direction her vote had been swayed, said that the debate had put her in the Bush column. The basic reaction was that more men were positive on Kerry while the women were strongly positive for Bush. Now, we all know that Bush will take most of the male vote so I see this as bad news for Kerry.
By the way, was anyone else pumping their fists at the "You can run but you can't hide" line?
Also the prez regained the likability war. I loved his... I own a timber company????.... that's news to me. A few seconds later, he asks a audience member if he need some wood. All but the hard left haters like this guy. Last night he reconfirmed that connection with people. I think that is an important fact that may not even show up in the "who won the debate polls." It's very important for winning votes though.

    Any thoughts?
    Go Bush!

    Done... and some!

    "Teresa sounds like her press."

Much worse in my opinion, and even in my sister's.

I actually know Chris Heinz. My sister dated him for about two years just before he started campaigning in the fall of 2003. A few things... First off, #1 he's a nice guy... but all his apparent conviction is phony. He really doesn't have the passion about his beliefs that just about any freeper has... trust me, everything he says comes right from what he hears from John Kerry. He is already worth hundreds of millions and he now would just like to add first stepson and a great starting point to a future phony political career based not on conviction but the appeal of fame. That is the worst side of Chris as I see it. #2 Don't all you kill me, but I did go to a Kerry fundraiser in the summer of 03... I love my sister thats all I can say about that. Also at that point, Kerry looked dead in the water. My sister introduced me to Terrezzzzza, whom even my sister couldn't stand, and I promise you all that I have never been more insulted by someone. I kindly said that it was very nice to meet you blah...blah...blah and she said nothing, made no eye contact and gave me the back of her hand in the most flimsy way. She didn't even bother to give my girlfriend the back of her hand when she was introduced. This is a woman campaigning... I had just, against all of my desire (except only to be a good brother), given money to these people and this was Terreezzzaaaa's reaction... UNBELEIVABLE! #3 Once the campaign had kicked into gear over the summer of 03, my family went out to dinner with Chris and my sister. I proceeded to engage Chris in a little friendly political debate... not what my sister had hoped for but hey, sometimes you just can't pass on an opportunity. Well, in a virtual shout out to FR I debated him with no mercy. Funny thing is that not only did I think I beat the but off him, so did my sister who voted for Nader in 2000! This fact goes back to my first point. He doesn't have the conviction that counts... he doesn't have the care or the passion to hold deep convictions. Much like his stepfather John Kerry, he is in it for the celebrity.

I believe George W. Bush is a real man in it for the right reasons... he stands head and shoulders above Kerry or Chris Heinz... at least in the political arena.

Just so you all know, I worked all summer on the Bush campaign... so I hope I redeemed myself for letting my sister snooker me into giving Kerry even a penny.

sorry for the length, but this needs to be heard.

"Just shows me how liberal the globe has become. What a pity."

Well I think that's only half true. We are an easy target when we boldly lead. Bush is doing just that. I truly believe that if the entire world were given U.S. citizenship and could be a part of moving the world into a brighter future... these numbers would be different. Being the lone superpower makes us an easy target there is nothing more to it than that. Had Reagan not had the Soviet Union as another superpower the world would have hated him much more than they already did.

I'm an American... and I'm voting for George W. Bush
    God Bless!

I just want to thank wholeheartedly all of you who posted, and especially thank those of you who took time to come out and help support the prez. Our Stamford office thanks you very much. We really didn't know how many would get the message to come help, but we were very pleased with the effort from those of you who came. The turnout was great. I am sorry that we forgot about providing some pizza or snacks... won't happen again. Trust me RaceBannon, I've taken all your advise to heart! I hope you all enjoyed the wine and the company however. We are going to continue to reach out and try to get more people, provide more food, drink and company. I very much hope that all of you, and other CT FReepers, will continue to check in on our events and that all of us can continue to communicate with each other as we drive toward November.
    Thanks again, redwhiteandblue

"Is Bush showing strength in Connecticut?"

Not any more than you might think. But as I said earlier, I really think that no bounce for Kerry before Bush's month of August might signal the turning of the tide in this race. Even though CT is no battleground we have an active campaign here and we are going to do our best to run a campaign no matter if the odds are not with us. We're Bush fans working in this campaign, same as anywhere else in this country. Getting out there and letting people know that its OK to support the President is a good first step.

"Some things we need to do just for our own mental health!"

That's the idea. The important thing is that we're out here in Connecticut doing what we can. The month of August is going to be the turning of the tide in this election. It doesn't matter what state you're in, it's just important now to get some energy going on the ground... and it's refreshing to.

    "Kerry is a fraud!"

Yeah, I completely agree. He's been waiting to be prez as long as Al Gore. I actually know a teacher of Kerry's at St. Paul’s prep school who tells me that Kerry was never popular because he was so transparently political. He told me Kerry has been running for president ever since high school. I was told that when Kerry lost his class presidential election, he started some nonsensical club of his own just so that he could be the president of something. Some teachers actually encouraged other students to join Kerry's club because they felt so bad that nobody wanted to join. This guy's a joke!
