While riding my motorcycle near Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, New Hampshire the other day, I passed an arcade center named Funspot. It is a very large enclosed building with arcade games, bowling, mini-golf and other games. The electronic sign out front advertised the games, upcoming events, etc. The following message flashed for a brief time: ATLAS HAS SHRUGGED immediately followed by: WHO IS JOHN GALT?? A web search indicated it has been doing that occasionally for quite some time, but it's the first time I've seen it. Note: The link is for the Funspot web page only.

A thin layer of smoke is covering much of New Hampshire today, spillover from more than 50 wildfires that are burning out of control in Quebec. Did anyone else watch Sean Hannity roast RFK, Jr. about SUV's tonight? He got RFK to agree that people who drove SUV's were unamerican because they wasted fuel unnecessarily. Then he got RFK to admit that he drove a mini-van and frequently used private jets. Very funny.

TAMPA, Fla. - Deputies dressed in SWAT gear surrounded a home for about six hours after receiving a report that there was a cache of about 200 guns and a hand grenade inside the house, authorities said.Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies evacuated about 15 neighboring homes Monday because two bank agents foreclosing on the house reported seeing numerous firearms and explosives inside, along with some canned goods.It was later determined that the resident, Robert Walters, 46, is an avid gun collector. About an hour ago on CSPAN, Tom Daschle, sitting behind a desk with a microphone, said that the Republicans had held up the Homeland Security legislation for political reasons.
