Wait—did they not show the videos where Hunter is rescuing dolphins tied up in tuna nets? Or saving abandoned kids at the Tex/Mex border? Or donating money to the homeless? Well, then they’re right. Obvious cherry picking.
When I was there, it was only for the wealthy patients of the surgery professors. No sick patients—they went to the ICUs at Cincinnati General, Christ, Good Sam, or Jewish. We rotated through all of those hospitals plus limited time at the Holmes. This was the early 1970s.
That’s where I went to medical school—UC Med is the 8th oldest med school in the country. Their traditions include attention to detail, questioning assumptions, always putting the patient first, and, BTW, having the first residency program in Emergency Medicine in the U.S. back in 1970 (I was in my third year).
