Online searches of the phrase “cancel Disney Plus” have reportedly spiked after Disney announced it will hike prices for the streaming entertainment service by more than 25 percent.
Google’s search data show that “cancel Disney Plus’ jumped worldwide by 510 percent on Monday — the most significant increase of that phrase on Google Trends since January 2023, according to an analysis from NoDeposit.guide.
Last week, the Walt Disney Company said it is hiking Disney+’s monthly subscription price to $13.99 from $10.99 — a 27 percent increase. Last year, the price rose to $10.99 from $7.99, which means Disney+ subscribers will see their monthly bill climb a total of 75 percent in less than two years.
The new price is set to take effect in October.
The latest price hike comes as Disney finds itself in increasingly perilous financial circumstances, with a perfect storm of bad media news bearing down on the woke company. Not only is advertising revenue cratering across its TV properties, Disney parks are also experiencing faltering attendance as households opt to save money in the face of out-of-control Bidenflation that is eating up disposable income.

Headline implies the price hike is causing the subscription losses. The looses came first because of the woke BS. Breitbart has been infiltrated by a number of leftists. This has been true for awhile.
They went from doing nothing wrong to doing nothing right in a New York minute.
People are leaving due to woke content and inflation so to keep their subscribers they raise the price by almost 30%. Smart move Disney executives -right up there with Bud Light’s trans influencer campaign.

If they didn’t have the Marvel movies, I’d cancel in a heartbeat. Considering buying the complete set. Right now I’m locked in an annual plan anyway so cancelling won’t do me any good.
Their new marketing slogan is “Pay up or you are a bigot and racist.”
Disney is missing the “here’s what you get” for the price increase. Hard lesson for Disney in the elasticity of consumer discretionary spending.

So much is wrong there, where to begin? They start by relying on the old leftist idea of raising prices/taxes to offset losses.
Thw woke crap is not gonna fly with family programming.
Also, they were coasting on Marvel mainstream movies but those have dried up for now. Guess what? Recycled B comics from the late 70’s does not equal Spiderman, Iron Man, etc.
Disney’s mission statement is candid: Groom kids. Convert kids. Sexualize kids. Exploit kids. Queer kids. This is the Way.
I have enough Marvel movies on DVD to satisfy me. I will miss watching Dr. Who since BBC has dropped BBC America as the USA provider over to Disney.

Shut off auto renewal if you have it. They will know and might have some impact if enough do it.
Well Disney+ has been bleeding users for months the price increase is recent. That is not opinion.
