The Holy Ghost would fail in the Church officially taught error. Bad cardinals and bishops cannot be considered such a failure. By your logic Christ would have failed by picking Judas as an Apostle.

Under Quo Primum all priests can celebrate the Traditional Mass. But a priest cannot exercise a public ministry without approval from the bishop. If Father Strentenovich does not want to say the New Mass I support that, but then join an indult order, get an indult from the bishop, become a hermit, dont run an unnapproved publich chapel

As one person put it Pope Benedict XVI has all the right enemies. We know he is good because of both those who love him and those who hate him, which seems to have been Fulton Sheen's point about the Church.

Fr. Gruner is not a priest in good standing. However his priestly standing is irrelevant to the issue of Fatima. I might also point out that his position on Fatima is irrelevant to his priestly standing.

The pope has never claimed that Russia was consecrated, he simply made a consecration of the world and never said anything about i fulfilling Our Lady's request.

There is a spurious letter attributed to Sr. Lucia being circled around claiming the consecration was done. There are also some fragmented remarks attributed to her (dealing with the 3rd secret, not the consecration) which could be understood in multiple ways depending on the context of larger statements she made, a larger context that has never been made public.

The result of all this is that there is no clear statment from Sr. Lucia that the consecration was done, together with evidence that she once insisted on Russia, not the world, being consecrated.

There is also the issue of the 3rd secret. There is no concrete statement that all of it has been revealed to the public by the Vatican. Assuming it has been revealed I should point out that the Church only decided magisterially whether a private apparition is authentic or not but does not determine its meaning. Any interpretation of such a message, even if coming from an authority figure, is only a private opnion.

Fr. Gruner does an excellent job pointing out some inconsistencies coming from some people (not Sr. Lucia) in reard to how they present Fatima, and has also exposed a number of lies and hoaxes. At the same time he seems to greatly exaggerate the adherence due to private revelations, be obsessed with Fatima and be disobedient. Overall I would say his work is more factually reliable than that of other Fatima apostolates while cautioning against uncritical acceptance of all he says and without supporting his disobedience or approving of him personally.

I am not unsympathetic to the SSPX give that I attend the Traditional Mass celebrated with the indult. It is ine thing to recognize the problems with the hierarchy, icluding in Rome. It is one thing to resist error. But there is a line between resistance and disobedience that seems to be being crossed.
