Sen. Mazie Hirono (D) used the Senate hearing on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump to criticize the “easy accessibility” of AR-15s.
When questioning FBI deputy director Paul Abbate, Hirono asked that he clarify the type of firearm used in the assassination attempt.
Hirono then claimed that the United States is “a nation awash in guns.”
She then zeroed in on AR-style rifles and asked, “Shouldn’t we be doing more to prevent the easy accessibility of these kinds of firearms in our country?”
Abbate refused to wade into a gun control debate, making clear he is “focused on collecting facts.”

Democrat Party trying to salvage as much as possible of their post-assassination plan.
the gun didn’t get up on that roof and fire on its own.
and that is the thing gun grabbers will never address.
Okay Mazie Dizzy Daisy— here’s one for you “Charlie Hebdo” gang in France with full auto machine guns— killed a lot of people in a country that has banned firearm ownership largely— so explain how that would work. Criminals never give them up— and esp. mohammedans who don’t like cartoons of the “great prophet” (really quite a joke this hadith/fatwah).
Crazy Mazie like most Democrats will use any tragic event to further their agenda which is to create a one party totalitarian government under their control forever.
Pat Schroder is gone?
no, we should issue good pistols and AR-15s to every high school student and teach them firearms safety, self-defense, and restore the shooting sports leagues for those students who are interested in participating
oh yeah, and remove congresscritters who don’t understand or support our individual liberties (as set forth in the US Constitution they’re all sworn to uphold)
Patty Murray is doing her best to prove you wrong.

Make Rifles Great Again 💪🏿

Why should a rifle that operates just like over 150 million other existing and owned rifles be a problem?
How about the “easy accessibility” to fentanyl, Mazy, that kills a thousand times more people the AR15s every year?
Usual tricks by the left
She’s not stupid, she’s evil.
If this shooter had been using a rifle that was actually accurate, Trump would not be with us today...
I have a sub-MOA AR-15 that I built from parts. It’s heavy, awkward, and still not as accurate as some bolt-action rifles... but I like it. 1” diamond targets at 100 yrds all day long with 62gr SPBT loaded to SAAMI spec.
I wouldn’t have cared if it was a AI AXSR in .338LM... CONGRESS DOES NOT HAVE THE CONSTITUTIONAL POWER TO BAN ARMS OF ANY TYPE and all existing legislation that creates an INFRINGEMENT is illegal on it’s face.
Any Congress-critter attempting such legislation is in violation of their Oath of Office and may possibly rise to the level of TREASON.
She perfectly reflects the politics of Hawaii. I use to live there. There is an astonishing lack of IQ.
The weapon employed is not the problem, and attempts to regulate a specific type of firearm are actually in conflict with the original intent of the Second Amendment. Technically, the degree of regulation of the Thompson sub-machine gun (Tommy gun) was excessive, but it was driven by the efforts to bring the criminal gangs of the 1920’s and 1930’s under control by charging them with breaking a Federal law.
The AR design rifle is NOT an automatic weapon. It just looks scary to people not familiar with the various kinds of firearms.
Mazie Hirono! She’s been quiet lately so I forgot about her…. But she is without a doubt the dumbest person in the US Senate. And there is a lot of competition!
And this is a problem?!
If it wasn’t a gun attacking it would have been an SUV.
Inbreeding? One of my best bosses in my career was of Japanese descent and grew up in Hawaii and he was a very sharp cookie.
That weirdo Maizie Hirono thinks guns are alive! She thinks they act on their own! That’s weird.
