I have a new Android phone, a Kyocera/Verizon model, that suddenly has a new feature: I'm carrying the phone in my pocket, locked as always, and a call comes in. I'm kinda busy at the time, like maybe DRIVING THE CAR, and what does one know but the phone answers the call FOR ME. I then hear a voice saying "Hello?" I really really don't like this. It happens most often when my wife calls, but it's also happened at other times from calls from other cell numbers. My wife's phone is an iPhone/Verizon. The other numbers this has happened...

(From Amazon, edited) Susan Eloise Hinton's career as an author began while she was still a student at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Disturbed by the divisions among her schoolmates into two groups--the Greasers and the Socs--Hinton wrote The Outsiders, an honest, sometimes shocking novel told from the point of view of a 14-year-old Greaser named Ponyboy Curtis. Since her narrator was male, it was decided that Hinton use only her first initials so as not to put off boys who would not normally read books written by women. The Outsiders was published during Hinton's freshman year at...

Oklahoma - Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford says text messages critical of President Trump sent by senior FBI officials who worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team won't "taint" the overall probe into Russian interference in the election. Transcript: Sen. James Lankford on "Face the Nation" "I don't think it taints the entire process. But it certainly taints that season of it. And it's something you should look at with any political investigation that he was on at the time. Again, we want our F.B.I. agents to be neutral and to be non-political," said Lankford on CBS News' "Face the...

Someone hired a CPA to do their taxes. Lots of schedules and attachments. Homeowners, professional person with lots of business expenses, and a small business owner. Late getting it all together, took everything to CPA in early April. CPA's staff prepares the return, CPA reviews it with the people, and the return gets sent to the IRS. (Paper return because some smartass tried to run an identity theft on them in January and file a false return, which to their credit the IRS caught and sent a letter to the people letting them know what happened.) Anyway last week the...

BOMBSHELL: (Major Scandal Uncovered) Pamella Geller And Robert Spencer Running An International Scam Involving Neo-Nazis, Anti-Christian Neo-Pagans, MAFIA, Thuggery And Terrorism (Original title) Much was written by Geller supporting the neo-Nazi EDL movement, Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll as well as Paul Weston of the British Freedom Party (BFP) which Geller out of embarrassment had to publicly disassociate with. But what we have here dwarfs all this. For the sake of space we will provide but few examples (there is literally a book worth). We will leave the rest of our investigation to the U.S. government to deal with. We...

Earlier today I was having a conversation about the flood and other historical things from the book of Genesis, and I mentioned a work of art I'd seen posted here at FR, actually, picturing an "earth chick" and a fallen angel. It might have been in one of the threads featuring a well-known former freeper who was really into UFO's and stuff... I tried the search engine solution and could only find a multitude of trash that looked like it all came from the same place at the mall. I don't recall the title so that's really about all the...

When Romanian hacker “Guccifer” breached Hillary Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal’s email account in 2013, it set off an explosive chain of events among a tight circle of Clinton family aides – including one “confidential assistant” whose extensive role in managing some of the former secretary’s mobile devices and computer security requests is only now becoming clear.

Winston Churchill was English. He was English because he was born there to an English father, just as being born in say, Canada, to a Canadian parent, mother or father, would make one Canadian. Winston Churchill's mother was American, right? And after the war, because of his leadership, he was the first person granted by Congress the title of "Honorary American Citizen", or something to that effect. Right? Why was that necessary? Why wasn't Winston Churchill already considered a Natural Born Citizen of the US? His mom was American, wasn't she? Instead of being granted Honorary Citizenship, why wasn't he...

A 2013 video, obtained exclusively by Fox News, raises fresh questions about how Hillary Clinton handled sensitive information at the State Department. In the video, veteran diplomat Wendy Sherman reveals that in the interest of speed, Clinton and her aides would share information that "would never be on an unclassified system" normally. The questions surround a 2013 speech in which Sherman compared the technology differences between serving at the State Department in the administrations of President Bill Clinton and President Obama. "Now we have BlackBerrys, and it has changed the way diplomacy is done," Sherman, who was undersecretary of state...

December 15, 1944. All is mostly quiet along the western front in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. It's cold, and the nights are dark. So dark that GI Joe, sitting and waiting, can't see his hand in front of his face. Four divisions of the US army are parked at a 75-mile front along the western frontier of Germany. The American commanders believe that the German Wehrmacht is finished and not capable of offensive operations. They either haven't been talking to some of the GI Joes in the front lines, or they aren't taking GI Joe seriously. He has been hearing...
