Just an FYI, just saw an alert on FoxNews stating that a new tape from Zawahiri will be shown on Al Jazeera today. He doesn't talk about the death of Zarqawi, so it's at least a day or two old.

Also on FoxNews, a Major General Caldwell is stating that Zarqawi was alive and conscience when troops arrived at the bombing site. Imagine finding that a*hole still breathing. Hope someone had the pleasure of helping him stop breathing. LOL

I'm doing well, the baby is doing great, it's like there's a soccer team inside me. LOL
I'm really great today hearing the news of the death of Zarqawi. I know it's pretty minor in the scheme of things and that violence will continue but it's great to see him dead and gone.

I hope everyone here is doing well. I still read a bunch here, just don't post very often. Only 3 1/2 months to go and I'll be posting the arrival of our little one.

Thanks for pinging me to this Cindy.
Being pregnant and all, I've just started looking into the vaccination schedule for children. I have to admit that although I know the risks for having the immunizations is small, I find it alarming that before the age of 5, 32 different types of shots will be given to this child, one before they even leave the hospital after being born.
Now to read this, that the MMR didn't even work in 2/3's of the cases, well needless to say, it makes me even more concerned.
I know I probably sound like a kook. I'm not really, most likely this child will be immunized as required, but what I research makes me a bit nervous, I have to admit.

Anyhow, I thank you for pointing me to this, more research to be done! LOL

Wow, interesting story Cindy, thanks for pinging me. I'm glad I'll be breatfeeding when the time comes. LOL. Still it makes you wonder if the terrorists are just using it as money making or setting up for other, deadlier, reasons.

BTW, I still lurk here and when I can stand the news try to keep up but it is much healthier for me now to try to avoid the negative and stay positive for the baby. Things are going really well, got ultra sound pics (I cried like never before that day, just couldn't believe it, a little one inside me!) and feel great now that I've hit 2nd trimester.

I'm extremely proud of the work you all do here on TM, keep up the great work!

Geeze I go out for a couple of hours and come back to this. Ugh.
First thing I did was to get on the forums to start looking for word, reaction. Strange thing is that out of the 3 I've looked at, only one has anything about the Zawahiri tape at all, and then it was just a rehash of what Al-Jazeera said. I looked at mohajroon, tajheed and alghorabaa. Of course I also took a look at the article from Al-Jazeera.

My gut says, not good, but my gut has said that before without anything happening so I don't really pay too much attention anymore. I wish I had something intelligent to say, but alas, I do not. I'm sure Laura will be a better read than I.

I'll be posting what I find on the forums at the blog, but so far it's not much. I'll keep looking around though. I would say that the lack of chatter about it, after having been out for 3 hours now, is in and of itself, interesting.

Interesting that the cartoons were published 4 months ago and then again early January. Strange that it took them so long to recall the Ambassador.

I may be overstating the threat to Denmark, but I remember similar images long before the attacks on London, so these images freaked me out.

Sorry to be alarmist, it's not my intention.

This, to me, is an important thread, if only for some insight.

The response to the message is what I find most interesting. The other members want to know immediately what the source of the information is, telling others not to spread the information and then getting to the point where they say that an honest forum would delete the thread all together, so as not to spread the information to the jewish.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of Iran. The president is obviously off his rocker, IMHO, but how do you deal with a crazy person in charge, and the millions who voted to put him there?

As for the translations, it's actually pretty interesting to see the differences, it's been eye opening for me. I really got a kick out of the fact that the human translators can't even seem to agree on certain sections and what the words are. If you find anything interesting, please let me know!

Just a couple of things I wanted to point out.
#1 I was way wrong on the 10 day thing obviously, but I also wonder why the translation software got the "ten" correct in reference to the soviet union but not in reference to the september piece.
#2 I found it also odd that Vietnam shows up in the software translation but is not found anywhere in the AP or other translations. I would think it's not something that could be /would be switched or messed up with other words.

I do think the whole thing is a good reminder and showcase as to how the software translates things (iron not to iron, diamonds cut diamonds, metal cuts metal) and how humans do and how the software and the humans do not always agree on what the translation is but that you get the general idea.

Anyhow, my 2 cents.

I was wrong about the 10 day thing, see my mea culpa not long after Velveeta pointed out that it was referencing 10 days before Sept, in her opinion. (We were both wrong, I believe)
Again machine translation is rough, you can see that you can get the gist of it if you compare the translation to the AP translation of the audio.

Just remember that machine translation is far from perfect, really really far.
I'm sure there's a TM freeper who knows arabic and will be able to translate this transcript much more effectively.
Besides that, if you were a bad guy, would you give any hint of what exactly was coming and risk the good guys finding out and stopping it? I personally don't think so, so I doubt we'll find any clues in this audio that will give us a heads up. But boy do I ever hope I'm wrong!

Great catch, I think you're probably correct on the 10 days before September. I completely missed the Sept reference there, so I'm glad you brought it up.

I can't imagine 10 days would have been enough time anyhow and OBL would have known that, so it makes perfect sense.
