when I was working full time, I madeit A POINT TO Go INTO THE WAITING ROOM WITH patient family (id they were currently being resuscuitated, nd ask them if they knew what that meant. then described clearly about chest compression, and possible fractured ribs, and about what hppens when one is defibrillated. I think we owe it to patients and especially their loved ones to inform them of what happens when we are attempting to resuscitate. All too often people are asked to complete healthcare directives without someone honestly explaining what happens, which I find to be unconscianable.
