I’m sorry to sound like a defeatist, but I feel like right now that the election is lost. Barring an absolutely colossal blunder by Obama in the debates, there is just no way that McCain can overcome the massive out of control media in this race.
We can see how the media stepped up their attacks and distortions after the convention bounce. Imagine how bad it will be if McCain performs better in the debates.
I don’t think she’s doing that great. Nothing devastating, but not great. Two things about the interview are even more disconcerting. Charlie Gibson is definitely talking down to Gov. Palin. Very condescending. And what the hell is with the edits??? Absolutely horrible. Its like ABC is just begging people to claim that the editing made her look bad/good.
Geez! The Obama campaign just keeps teeing it up. All you have to do is google “McCain” and “Maverick” to see how long McCain has been labelled a maverick. Does Obama think a few commercials are going to erase that label?
I’m not necessarily opposed to popular vote electing the president. After all it is a national election. Of course this would be all ‘in theory’.
In reality, however, having the nationwide poplar vote decide the presidency would be a recipe for chaos. A close vote would make Florida 2000 look like a school board election. Why doesn’t someone in the press ask her how you go about doing a nationwide recount?
Secondly, we would have to make sure our diebold machines are in every election district in the country (oops! I let our secret out. I hope no DUmmies are reading.)
Just caught this because the Amazing Race is on late tonight. My goodness. I'm having a hard time thinking of when I've ever seen a more self-righteous, judgemental piece of crap than Pelley showed himself to be tonight. And the token 30 seconds with his lawyers to explain the Sargeant's side? Yeah, that was fair and even handed. I'm simply disgusted.
