It is against our Constitution for a President to send military or Federal agents into a state without the express permission of that state (i.e. Governor). In this case, President Bush offered to have National Guardsmen in New Orleans two days before Katrina hit. Louisiana's female, DemocRAT Governor refused to grant that permission until the end of the second day after the hurricane.
The National Guard was ready. FEMA was on notice. Her decision was to send people to the SuperDome instead. She didn't bother to put anyone in charge or make sure they had food and medical supplies. What a gal!
My dad is down there working with FEMA. Unlike what you see from our leftist national news media, the people there are very appreciative for the help and VERY upset with their DemocRAT Governor.
