I need some Freeper advice. I own a home with a garden rental apartment. My tenant is a nice person who pays her rent on time. She has a dog I like and he is allowed free reign to use the yard. I often go out and play with him. The dog loves to play under a lawn sprinkler and he does it for hours at a time. No problem. She often brings her friends' dogs to play in the yard with hers. Again, no problem. Unfortunately, she often leaves his little gifts in the yard for two or three...

You'll never get this. What 1960's TV show was the first to mention the Vietnam War? Nope, not Dick Van Dyke. Nope, not Laugh-In. Nope, not the Smothers Brothers. You'll never get it.

You think the term groovy originated in the 1960's? The 70's? Nope. Believe it or not, it's from the 40's- and associated with a very famous Santa Claus movie!

Two reporters- Jeff Burnside and Christina Hernandez from NBC Miami wrote or co-wrote at least 3 articles using this despicably distorted quote of George Zimmerman: "This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.” An NBC producer was allegedly fired for this same offense. Why weren't these two reporters terminated.

As the Trayvon Martin controversy splinters into a debate about self-defense, a central question remains: Who was heard crying for help on a 911 call in the moments before the teen was shot? A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel. His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help.

According to my understanding of Florida law, an individual only has to reasonably believe his life is in danger in order to use deadly force. Well, remember the screams of terror in the background of the 911 tapes? The screams just don't last a few seconds- they go on and on for quite a while. They are the epitome of a man who is in sheer terror of losing his life. In fact, this is what Trayvon's own father Tracy told Anderson Cooper: "He was afraid for his life," says his father, "He saw his death coming. He saw his...

Shanpreta Howard and Antowain Johnson say they will “travel to the end of the world” for their kids. But the Uptown couple are in trouble now because they allegedly don’t always like to travel with their kids. Howard, 34, and Johnson, 36, who live in an apartment building on North Winthrop, were each charged this week with misdemeanor endangerment, after allegedly leaving their children — ages 12 and 9 — alone for two days while they took off for Las Vegas. While the parents were away — beginning Feb. 22 — the 12-year-old boy told his teacher about the Las...

I mean, I'm glad they won and everything, but it's like they were sleep walking through the whole game. VCU was more determined and they played harder. They deserved to win.

Think about it. Advertisers have known for 20 years about Rush Limbaugh’s so-called “controversial” opinions. They certainly realize a good chunk of Americans love him while, at the same time, a lot of people virulently disagree with him. They’ve heard him refer to Feminazis and their anti-life, anti-American views. They still decided to advertise with him. Now, all of a sudden, after he ridicules a woman who has publicly admitted she attended a Catholic University solely to force that school to go against one of the basic doctrines of their religion, these same advertisers decided he’s gone too far. Rush...

Newt Gingrich’s moon base idea takes center stage at the GOP debate in Florida If aliens were watching from outer space, even they might have been shocked by the amount of time devoted to space travel in Thursday’s presidential debate. Newt Gingrich excited Florida’s struggling space coast this week when he pledged to industry executives that he would colonize the moon by the end of his second presidential term. The big promise drew flak from his GOP rivals, and a question at the debate from a Twitter user who wanted to know how the former speaker planned to pay for...

Computer tracking leads to arrest of football coach's wife A sharp-eyed Antioch Community High School teacher who noticed that a student's grade had been inexplicably changed sparked an investigation that ended with a fellow educator being charged with tampering with computer records. Sara Glashagel, 27, a special education teacher who is the wife of Antioch's head football coach, allegedly got hold of an administrative password and inflated the grades for 64 students — 41 of them football players, authorities said.

Rule has an intense desire to remain private while the reality is that her husband’s job has made her somewhat a public figure. I bet most of you would not recognize Rule — and that’s fine with her. Private, unpretentious and humble are a few of the words friends and acquaintances use to describe her. She’s also known as being fun and witty. Like her husband, she’s trim and wiry. She runs, bikes and kayaks. Unlike her husband, she’s not caught up in politics.
