The Western submission to Islam, usually ideologically concealed as "tolerance" and "integration," has infiltrated the Church, also hiding behind theologically distorted euphemisms like "ecumenism." While the unwavering masses of asylum seekers are coming in unprecedented numbers and pose a serious reason for alarm, the slow and anonymous occupation of quarters in small communities and the barely perceptible changes in everyday life are indicators of a profound and irreversible transformation in Europe. Last week vaticanista Marco Tosatti commented on his blog on the initiative promoted by the chaplain in charge of the chapel inside Malpensa Airport, in Milan. Monsignor Ruggero Camagni,...

More than five years after a jury in Florida cleared Casey Anthony in the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, a private investigator claimed the mom's attorney admitted she killed the girl and hid her body. Dominic Casey made the claim in court documents that went public last month in Casey Anthony's bankruptcy case. He also suggested that the mom paid her lawyer with sex. The investigator claimed attorney Jose Baez hired him days after police arrested the mom in July 2008. He said, "Baez had told me that Casey had murdered Caylee and dumped the body somewhere and, he...

MANASSAS, Va. -- Manassas resident George Hall said he was shocked when he heard that former neighbor George Zimmerman is the man behind the now nationally known shooting death of Trayvon Martin. “They had to have the wrong guy,” he recalled saying at the time. Zimmerman, a Osbourn High School graduate, is at the center of a national uproar after police said he, while acting as a neighborhood watch captain in Sanford, Fla., shot and killed the 17-year-old Trayvon on Feb. 26. He has not been charged and has admitted he shot the teen, who was returning to a gated...

Anyone remember the cases where the mortgages had been sold so many times that no one could prove ownership. Our friend's daughter, a young single mother with cancer is in a similar situation so I am looking for that earlier thread hoping it will provide her some help. The young woman lost her job due to cancer and the company where she was sending the monthly payments had her in mediation, as of today they still say they hold the mortgage and she is in mediation. BUT she was served eviction papers last Sat from a company who says they...

I have two master's degrees from Columbia, keep the h silent in haute couture (you'd be surprised at how few Pakistanis like me do so), and know to scour the fine print before I sign anything. But I scrawled my signature on the most important contract of my life without reading a word. And, as I later found out, many of my also well-educated female friends did the same. Why do Pakistani women agree to marriage contracts without scrutinizing them first and making sure they won't be sorry later?

At the White House press briefing today, left-wing Air America radio talk show host Bill Press asked Robert Gibbs, "Is there anything you can say that will make the birthers go away?" To which Gibbs replied, Oh, please, please don't make me talk about an issue that makes conservatives look like a bunch of nutjobs. I paraphrase. You can read the full exchange after the jump. But I thought it was curious that Helen Thomas seemed to think that concerns that Obama is not really a U.S. citizen are legitimate (some of the following exchange was left out of the...

It's been a long standing argument about using taxpayer money to fund abortions but if ObamaCare becomes the law of the land as he's pushing it to be, abortion will likely be part of everyone in the nation's health care plan. And pro-lifers are upset that their taxpayer money will go to funding abortions. But should pro-choicers be worried as well about ObamaCare? Everyone by now knows that a national health care plan will essentially wipe out private health insurance because if you give something away for "free" what company is going to carry the cost of health care plans...

On a train to London, a young woman wearing a burkha, with only her heavily made-up eyes peeping out, did not have a valid ticket. Challenged by the guard, the young woman gave a litany of excuses. She had left her bag at her boyfriend's, he had bought the ticket, she had no money on her... My friend Jane, who was in the same carriage, noticed how the guard became nervous as the Muslim girl presented herself as an innocent in a society she didn't understand. Instead of issuing a penalty fine, the guard backed off, shrugging his helplessness at...

Another Jimmy Carter Foreign Policy Success, Revisited. The foreign policy gifts of Jimmy Carter - which gave us the secular, pluralist, pro-Western Iran we know today - just keep on giving. Recently, thanks to the postings at Theo Spark’s Last of the Few, I've been following the disaster in Zimbabwe and the man who made it so – it’s de-facto dictator, Robert "let-them-eat-nothing" Mugabe. Mugabe is running "unopposed" for another term as president - as he's now forced the one viable opposition candidate out of the race. (The election is today.) In most democracies, candidates win elections by earning people’s...

Book review of... Moral Clarity By Susan Neiman (Harcourt, 467 pages, $27) The seemingly endless contest between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is, among other things, a referendum on that perennial question: What ails the American left? Is the problem a failure to offer clear alternatives to the corporate coziness of the Republicans, or is it a lack of cultural and religious sympathy with the heartland? Is it a matter of substance or style, of insufficiently "progressive" policies or bicoastal swagger? To this stale discussion Susan Neiman brings a new thought: The problem with our liberal elites, she insists, is...

A vicar was in hospital last night after being attacked in his churchyard by two youths in what is being treated as a 'faith hate' crime. The incident happened outside St George-in-the-East Church in Wapping, East London. It has regularly had windows smashed by youths - who on one occasion shouted: "This should not be a church, this should be a mosque." The Reverend Alan Green, Area Dean for Tower Hamlets, said it was the latest in a series of "faith hate" crimes in the borough.

An article about the Prophet Muhammad in the English-language Wikipedia has become the subject of an online protest in the last few weeks because of its representations of Muhammad, taken from medieval manuscripts. In addition to numerous e-mail messages sent to Wikipedia.org, an online petition cites a prohibition in Islam on images of people. The petition has more than 80,000 “signatures,†though many who submitted them to ThePetitionSite.com, remained anonymous. “We have been noticing a lot more similar sounding, similar looking e-mails beginning mid-January,†said Jay Walsh, a spokesman for the Wikimedia Foundation in San Francisco, which administers the various...
