Our US Constitution is a very understandable document, dedicated to the principle that under republican forms of government at all local, state, and federal levels, no persons shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of [constitutional] law. In practice, this basic principle has been ignored by all political factions, at all levels of government, since it was first clarified by the 14th Amendment.
