All spectres aside....how's this for scary timing, eh?

"Cintas turns its attention to outfitting a huge, untapped market:
    women in uniform"

    http://cincinnati.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/stories/2009/03/30/story2.html

So...Obi-Wan wants mandatory service for "uniformed youth?"
Nothing mentioned about gender, either...was there?

Time to hide our sons....and daughters?

Since the '50's? And it was a residence all along? Hmm....a good bet they were renting it out, then. Still, it's an awfully small parcel...I mean -- comparatively speaking. But then, I suppose that most every plat is high-dollar property, in that area. Considering places like L.A., or N.Y.C., for instance... people are often jammed together like sardines in a can! Yet, there's nothing cheap about the real estate!

Take your time, CE. I've had my fill of the taxing subject, anyway! ;) Do what you can, as you can. After all...we may be working at this thing for years, just to get the truth out! (uhm....minus 60-some-odd days, that is) So, don't mind me, and my somewhat irritating lack of patience, my friend. I'm a slow reader, anyway. :)

CE — re: the 6085 address....
have you ever run across the name, “Elaine,”
    in your searches?

If so...any idea who she might be?

Hmmm....seems like awfully tight conditions, though.
Especially, since the entire land parcel is less than
    1/4 ac.

Cyn...did the article include a pic of the main
    house, as well?

Now, I’m really curious to see the whole place!
(no way! unless I can make the trip...without
    flying!)

    Checking property taxes....
looks like they’ve just gone up a point (per thou)
    on “residential.”

So, even if Nani Smethurst (listed owner) goes
with the “affordable rental housing” option, for
    that backyard bungalow....
with the land and main house, I’d still hate to have
    to pay that tax bill!

Wish I were better at math, and could figure out the
county’s assessment of the main residence.
Because, I just can’t imagine a tenured member of
UH, raising a family in anything shabby.

But, we might also consider that the bungalow is
a more recent addition to the property — not there
    in ‘61, for instance.
Or, perhaps it was just a garage, back then...or,
    a storage shed?

Still....wouldn’t such a structure make sense, were
the owners making the best use of it?

Hmmm....guess I’ll mentally revisit my earlier idea —
and consider that the Lefforge’s may well have been
    “housing” troubled, expectant mothers...with hopes
of adding to their own little family, with as few
    legal obstacles as possible. :?

According to a handful of accountings from
family friends, neither Dunham seemed happy with
    their daughter’s decisions.
And neither was Sr.’s father, according to what
    I’ve read.

So, you think the Dunham’s sent her away, then?
    Maybe so.
Maybe, they even pressured her to give-up the baby,
    and start fresh?
After all, I doubt even Ann fancied herself spending
the rest of her life in Africa, dutifully serving
as one of Sr.’s multiple wives.

    Nope. Not her.
She doesn’t doesn’t fit that mold.

    You’re top-notch, CE.

I’ve seen some pics, and yep — mostly
when Jr looked to be 10, or so.
I’ll keep an eye out for more, anyway.

As for the contact thing, guess I’ll just put the invitation out here.
    To ALL:
Will pass contact info through private
    message.

    Saddened to hear it, CE.
    Bureaucracy...yep, that one’s a toughie to battle!
But, my money’s on you beating the odds. ;)

OK, so...you know the FReepers far better than I.
Any name you’d like to “volunteer” for the job? :)

    I think I’ve located Scott.
But, we mustn’t forget that he was just an infant at
    the time in question.

    Also, I believe I’ve located a nephew who’s
old enough to remember, perhaps, where his Aunt and
    Uncle lived in 1961.
Especially, if the usual cards, letters, and pics
were being exchanged between the two households.

I know that I can recall lots of details about
my extended family’s homes....from as far back as
    age 3, or even 2.
So, a 5-yr-old nephew might even remember visiting the
Kalanianaole Hwy. home...and playing with his “cousins,” there.

    CE....will you do ‘the contact?’
    Somebody has to, and soon!

Bear-in-mind — IF there is some deep, dark secret
    waiting to be disclosed...
there will certainly be others looking, as well...
    armed with much bigger shovels.

  • Honolulu "address" of Obama family does NOT check out ( neighbors say family did not live there)

Sure, it could have been Madelyn.
But....why would she pick that address?
Wouldn’t she have put her own, instead?

And, since the Kalanianaole Hwy. addy belonged to
a faculty member at her daughter’s and “son-in-law’s” university...doesn’t it make more sense that they
    picked it, instead?

One or both was likely in Lefforge’s class.
    And, even if not...
how difficult is it for a student to get the home
    address of any faculty member?

Still, I’d guess that the Lefforge’s, for some reason
yet unknown....gave permission for their addtess to be used.

    Impressive work, CE!
    Thank you!

But, doesn’t it still seem odd that the Lefforge’s adopted 2 (at least) of their 3 children?
And, how often have you heard of couples who have fertility issues, after finally deciding to adopt...becoming pregnant?
I’ve heard lots of cases like that!

Sure, we may not have the exact adoption dates, but I’d bet the two oldest kids were still babies.
Then, the Lefforge’s finally got their own biological child.
Or perhaps, even Scott came to them by other means.

So, can we completely dismiss the possibility that Jr. might have been on their “adoption radar screen?”
Look at the birthdates of “their” kids — ‘55 and ‘59...
then, ‘60 for Scott, no matter if he’s really their bio-kid, or not.

    ‘55, ‘59, ‘60.
I’d guess that the Lefforge’s might well have still been in “adoption mode,” in ‘61.

But, all of that likely matters little, at least for the question at hand — was Jr born in the U.S., or not?

My best guess would be — “no.”
But, guesses don’t help much, either.

    The Lefforge’s are gone, sure.
But, they still have living relatives.
    I’ve located a few, I think.

So, do you want to do the honors...or, must I?

My preference is that you, or one of the others here
    volunteer to do it.
I’m not very good at explaining these things, and tend
    to confuse people, sometimes.

Plus....I make an awful ‘first impression.’

“As far as I can discover there is no relation between them and Jr.”

    Sure, there is!

“In June, 1959, at the age of 23, Obama Sr. became the first African student enrolled at the University of Hawaii...
    at Manoa.”

“On Sept 26,1960, Stanley Ann began classes at the University of Hawaii, and began an intimate relationship with Barack Obama Sr. almost immediately.”

    source: http://www.theobamafile.com/ObamaFamily.htm

    Don’t you see the connection?
Both Obama parents were students at the university
    where Prof. Lefforge taught!
Perhaps, they were even his students!
(does anyone know if he taught Russian?)

Of course, that also provides the possibility that Lefforge took them in....
    or, rented them a room...
or even, perhaps had taken pity on a very pregnant young student, whose “husband” had left all alone, having returned to his home country...and his other wife.

Maybe, Orland and Thelma were just helping the girl out.
Perhaps, there had even been some hint that she’d be giving the baby up...or worse.
Perhaps, the Lefforge’s were considering taking the child.

    Heck! I don’t know!

But, you must admit....when you think about it, there are
    many possibilities.

So, where’s our detective minds, eh?

Stop the presses! Stop the presses!

Has anyone considered how BO’s parents might have chosen that exact Kalanianaole Hwy. address...I mean, IF they were actually faking their child’s American citizenship?

Well....I think I might have the answer to that.

    But, first....any guesses?

C’mon, people! Put your thinking caps on!

(of course, if somebody already figured it out, and I’ve just not caught-up enough on my reading, yet....
totally disregard my melodramatics, ok? )
