  • The Obama Pyramid

I don't remember where I saw it, maybe Beck's tv show, but there was some comment about the obama-worship being elevated to pharoah level. I got to thinking; wouldn't it be funny to start a fund to raise money to build an Obama pyramid for the day that he finally departs this earth? Of course, I have no intention of actually building such a thing, but instead would just take great pleasure in taking liberals money. When the project inevitably fails to raise enough money, could I then find a way to legally keep it?

Willard Gore's no stranger to tough fighting. A Vietnam veteran and a career educator with years of experience in labor contract negotiations, he could write a book. But those were long battles, while his most recent struggle was very, very brief, happening at lightning speed. In fact, the terrorizing suddenness was among the enemy's most dangerous weapons. Gore was attacked by a bobcat. It happened Sunday, March 30, about 6:30 a.m. on a farm in the Defeated community of Smith County. He and a friend, Bill Davis, had gone there to hunt wild turkeys. Davis went to one end of...

COOKEVILLE -- Eight Hispanic men arrested last month with a batch of fake payroll checks, fake ID's, and a large wad of cash went to court this week, and four have now been released from the Putnam jail. All eight are in the United States illegally, but federal immigration authorities are currently planning to deport only three of the eight, while one is to be turned over to authorities in Illinois, where he is wanted on another charge. The eight men were arrested by Cookeville Police on April 7 after thousands of dollars in fake Perdue Farms payroll checks had...
  • Good show on Waco and the subsequent hearings now on TRUE network

Sorry for the vanity, but on TRUE network, I think channel 531 on DirecTV, there is a program about the hearings and events surrounding the waco massacre. Chuckie Schumer isn't looking too good right now for his partisan questioning. Basically called a witness a lunatic for considering a flash-bang grenade an actual dangerous weapon (used by ATF)

The further this reality-TV craze spreads, the less surprised we should become at wacky ideas for shows. Still, this one's a doozy: The Beverly Hillbillies is making a comeback as a CBS reality series, reports TV Guide Online. The network will soon begin casting for Real Beverly Hillbillies, a half-hour show that follows a rural, lower-middle class family as they are transplanted from their humble abode to a tony Beverly Hills mansion. And yes, there will be a granny. "It's a great fish-out-of-water story, says Ghen Maynard, CBS vice president of alternative programming. "We want to find a family that's...
  • Has anyone heard of "National Write Your Congressman" company?

Has anyone heard of this company? I have found myself out of work, and in my search ran across an ad by them. I am skeptical, but interested. They say that people pay them for non-partisan information (primarily business people) so that they can make better decisions and communicate with their elected officials. I have a hard time believing that people would pay for that since so much is free on the net, though definitely biased one way or the other. I have never heard of them, though they are a 40+ year old company. Has anyone heard of them?...

On another forum, someone is challenging conservatives who feel we are over taxed. This person says that no one can prove that they are paying over 40% of their income in taxes. I have pointed out that they are not considering all the forms that taxation carries, from sales tax, to alcohol taxes, gas taxes, FCC taxes, and a bunch of others plus things like the fact that when you purchase goods you are paying for the payroll taxes that the producer paid to their employees and things like that. Anyone have any other hidden or not-obvious examples of taxation...
  • What did CNN do this morning?

This morning, I heard the team on Fox and Friends slamming CNN for a story they did. I didn't catch enough of it, but they mentioned that CNN may have given out confidential information and that the story was basically anti-American. Brian said no way would they have done the story, that they "have a dog in this fight" and that the story was an example of CNN's bias. Did anyone catch the whole thing, or see the story they were referring to on CNN? I tuned in to CNN for a while, but nothing on their ticker looked inflammatory.

I am having an online argument with a childish lib regarding Bush, his intellect, and his interests. I was trying to find that recent article that mentioned that he didn't know who Leonardo DiCaprio was, etc..., but I cannot find it. I thought it was Maureen Dowd, but I couldnt find it. Any help out there?

Since I am having a slow day here, I thought I would share a brief story about a visit my wife and I made to D.C. a few years ago: It was back around 1996, and we had the opportunity to visit Washington. We were walking around the White House, going toward the mall/monument. My wife is blonde, and rather, ahem, well endowed. She was wearing a snug white cotton blouse with a blazer over it. She never wears a bra on vacation. As we went to cross the street to get to the mall area, a traffic cop stopped...

Has anyone read this book about the Bush Presidential campaign? I have just started it, and already I am coming to like the man even more than I already did. I hadn't even heard of this book. I was at the library this weekend and the combination of the word "enchilada" and a Texas flag caught my attention on the new book rack.

Is anyone else as sick as I am of NY feeling sorry for itself, and seeking every last dollar of our money for their "grief and suffering"? This morning watching Fox and Friends they were debating about the notion that those that died who were wealthy getting more money than those that didn't. E.D. opined that she knew some of those people, and if they didn't get more then they would have to take their kids out of private school, sell their expensive homes, etc... Now, I feel for these people too. But they are no diffferent than the families ...

On WWTN here in Nashville TN, they were speaking with a man regarding the Middle East situation, when they came to talking about John Walker and Helen's column saying that W. should show mercy to him to prove he is a compassionate conservative. He then gave the description of her in the title. I almost had to pull off the road as its the best one I've heard yet.

President Clinton and his national security team ignored several opportunities to capture Osama bin Laden and his terrorist associates, including one as late as last year. I know because I negotiated more than one of the opportunities. From 1996 to 1998, I opened unofficial channels between Sudan and the Clinton administration. I met with officials in both countries, including Clinton, U.S. National Security Adviser Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger and Sudan's president and intelligence chief. President Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir, who wanted terrorism sanctions against Sudan lifted, offered the arrest and extradition of bin Laden and detailed intelligence data about the ...

My wife told me a story last night that really has me upset and I would like to try to do something about it. She recently took a job with a local car dealer. Her job is to field calls and get people to come in to the showroom. She had a guy that had called and came in that was young (early 20s) that seemed to be mildly retarded. He had a perfectly good Maxima, but he was insistent that what he needed was a car with a spoiler, sunroof, low rider package, and such. He wanted them to ...

Recently I was at a gunshow and there were several booths that, in addition to higher priced Taurus, Glock, S&W and other "brand" handguns, they also carried several that were extremely inexpensive. I cannot for the life of me remember the names, one was made in OH and i think the other in CA. The guns felt solid, the action was smooth, and I couldnt find anything other than they may not be quite as pretty as others to tell me they were not a quality firearm. I asked two dealers how they could sell them so cheap. Both said ...

I had decided to buy a reasonably priced shotgun, and yesterday at a gun show I bought a Remington 870 express. Previous shotguns I have owned have either been double barrel or single shot. I went to load it with standard 2 3/4 shells, but only could get 2 into the magazine. The third would not quite go in all the way. I unloaded it and tried again, but still got the same result. Is there some kind of plug in older models of this gun, and if so can I get it out? I can't believe that the magazine ...

Where's Bush? I know we're all rallying 'round the president now, and here I've been, rallying like everybody else. But the hours are passing. The body count is rising. The news is staying grim. The nation's premier city has suffered this unspeakable loss. The question can't wait much longer. New York has a right to know. "Where are you, Mr. President?" Mostly, George W. Bush has been keeping his head down, staying out of harm's way. He certainly hasn't shown his face around here. And really, isn't it about time? It's been two full days now since the first hijacked ...
  • Some help with Kyoto facts, please

    07/30/2001 11:15:08 AM PDT · by jdub · 12+ views
in Saturday's Tennessean, someone wrote a letter bashing Bush for standing against the weight of the world on the Kyoto accords. He stated that 170 odd countries had signed it, with the US as a notable exception. Before I write in a letter myself, I want to check my facts. Please let me know if I have this right: Clinton in fact did sign the accords. However when the majority of the country expressed shock that he would sign something so against American interests, he explained that he signed it merely to show that the US was interested in participating ...
