I received a letter from The Social Security administration; they had made some kind of mistake in calculating the benefits due to my daughter and I. They had corrected the mistake, and had deposited over $1,800 into my checking account.

I have to admit, I have never watched Two and a Half Men, and never will. I hate sitcoms. I’ve tried to watch other ones and found them to be rather unfunny; as a Christian myself I find the content worldly, over-sexualized and very distasteful, as are most programs on TV. But as an actor on the program, was Jones wrong for speaking out against it?

Here's one of several statements Hillary Clinton made regarding the recent murder of four Americans. "To us, to me personally, this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage."

Of her most recent flop, Wanderlust, the family friendly site Movieguide.org writes: “Besides adultery and some graphic sexual dialogue, it contains abundant foul language, including many strong obscenities and profanities. It also has some very explicit nudity.” It’s fair to say that this is very common in today’s films, and not unexpected since it did garner an “R" rating.

Elton John – what a class act. In a recent profanity laced interview with an Australian TV program, Elton attacks Madonna – again. Calling her current tour a “disaster”, and that “it couldn’t happen to a bigger" (expletive deleted), he goes on to say she had to prove that she could do it all and that “she looks like a (expetive deleted) fairground stripper.”

Picture this: an eleven-year-old child attends a public school. One day at school, her teacher overhears her talking to a friend. The child is telling her friend that her mom believes marriage should be between a man and a woman. Because of laws now in place, the teacher must get the principal, and the child is taken to the office. The mother is tracked down at her job and arrested. The child’s father is away on business and cannot get back immediately; there is no one around to take care of the young girl, so the child is put in...

Too many of us so called “Christians” today buy into the perversion that is prevalent in entertainment, simply because it’s there, it’s being promoted and we read or hear good reviews. The popularity of such genre does not make it acceptable for us, as Christians, to take part in it. If anything, we should be speaking out against it.

Hollywood consistently churns out movies that are filled with very graphic and gory violence. While I'm not blaming them for what this sick killer did, let's face it: we live in a culture that embraces violence. How do we embrace it? By paying our hard earned money to see movies where people are shot with guns, mutilated, killed and blown up on a regular basis.

All over the Internet gays and those who are pro-gay marriage are calling Jane and Christians “haters”, but what do you call making death threats? Is that not hating? Why is there a double standard here? What the threat-maker are saying is: you don’t agree with us about gay marriage, therefore you deserve to die. We are not saying because you believe in and support gay marriage you should die. We are simply saying we don’t support it. Big difference.

According to the The New York Post, sales were up in many of the major tabloids. And why wouldn’t they be? The TomKat split has everything that makes for a great headline: super wealthy Tom, with an estimated net worth of $250 million, what with his fabulous $30 million mansion and private plane. It’s a life most of us can’t imagine.

My last interview was typical of the new "selection process" employers utilize to weed out the unwanted and unemployable. The first interview was only round one in the boxing ring fighting to get a job. The recruiter gave us the heads up about the selection process. It occurs to me I haven't written anything humorous for a while. For a season, my life revolved around court dates in Pittsburgh to obtain PFA's (Protection from Abuse) from my ex-boyfriend. There's not anything really fun to write about that whole matter... but at least I have some closure now. American Atheists went to federal court this week to stop the Utah Highway Patrol and the Utah Department of Transportation from erecting large metal Christian crosses on state property that honor state troopers killed in the line of duty. The petition, filed by constitutional attorney Brian Barnard of the Utah Legal Clinic also seeks immediate removal of existing memorial crosses in six known locations, including a Utah Highway Patrol facility.
