Rolla and Leona Payne are buried at Highland Cemetary, Winfield, KS. Our local paper, the Winfield Courier did a big story about Obama’s great-grandparents and their ties to our community. The Paynes retired to Winfield where they lived for about 12 years before their deaths in 1968. Their grave stone reads, Rolla Charles Payne, born Aug 23, 1892; died Oct 15, 1968: Leona McCurry Payne, born May 7, 1897; died Mar 22, l968. He died approx six months after she did. The couple had joined the First Methodist Church in Winfield. According to the paper, a few locals remember them. I never met them as I lived in the country.
Thanks for your viewpoint. I was beginning to think I was the only one that saw this as very backhanded support to Zero and crew. I don’t appreciate McCain wanting to send that bunch to Leavenworth but he does seem to have something against Kansas.
I’d be willing to bet there are plenty of us out here that are on the quiet side. I keep busy just trying to keep up with all that’s happening. I spend many hours here at FR but don’t post much. I sincerely hope there’s info in that divorce document that will keep Obama from taking office. One thing for sure I won’t be watching tv Jan 20. Makes me ill thinking about it.
Didn’t anyone else see post 1191? Berg claims at the ObamaCrimes site that he has had this divorce info for many months. Also says there is no reference to Obama’s place of birth. Interesting.
John McCain would rather go with Air Bus than Boeing for the new refueling tankers. That’s a part of why he isn’t well liked here in the Wichita area of Kansas.
I think MSM will wait until McCain has the nomination sewed up before they attack. If what they bring out about McCain is bad enough, the Republicans might be able to select another candidate at the convention and they wouldn’t want that to happen.
I read a statement here a while back by a FReeper that said John McCain hated Israel. That concerns me as much or more as anything McCain has done. Does anyone have any info on his opinions of Israel?
I wondered what happened to those stories about the fancy gifts Huckabee received and in return appointed the gift givers to government positions. Isn’t there a law against that? Fred nor his staff will pursue this considering it to be a personal attack but people need to know the facts about this high moral character. Soon. Tomorrow at the latest.
That would be KS for Kansas (not KA). I personally am glad to hear Brownback is giving up his bid for the presidency. I like Fred Thompson but since KS will not have a presidential primary, I won’t be in on choosing the candidate.
