A Simple Proposal: Let it be know that the house will rubber stamp whatever the senate can pass with regard to taxes and spending cuts, but that the debt limit WILL NOT BE RAISED. We can make a big scene about cooperating with the one. He can decide how the budget will be balanced. They can run wild with tax increases. The only catch.....all tax increases expire on 01 Nov 14. We need to teach America what all the "bennies" cost while there is still hope. In this way "the one" will be responsible for the economy. Let BO decide...

However, committed states-righters and libertarians can take heart. Apparently, federalism is not dead. The left, long proponents of big, activist federal government, finding itself unquestionably in the minority, is discovering the virtues of federalism. Facing what could be the lengthy reign of a conservative government, many blue-staters are thinking hard about the advantages of local rule.

Does anyone have the statisitcs on which states generate the most volunteers for the US military. It would be interesting to overlay this on top of the reb/blue map
