Not on topic exactly... I recently watched a You Tube showing the same exactly topic, word-for-word, being shown to those glued to the MSM stations across the U.S. on the same day. No matter how big or small or which of the local news channels they were, the same bloody script. It focused on “...we all know how much children love their birthdays...”. It was not a serious news item, it was the feel-good fill. It was the creepiest thing I have ever watched.

Of course, it was one of many videos about how much the government and their media puppets control how we are supposed to think (little) and feel (what they want). I was already figured out when I was a teen that was going on. Still, it is creepy to watch how easily they are ramming the population along their agenda of group mind-think.

I am the late Boomer kid, as is my husband. We did BETTER under Reagan & has policies. That all went to trash once the Left took over. I was a potter-sculptor, making extra money while being (the most important job in the world- a Mother & housewife). I made good money then. Once the Left took over, people started to not have extra income to buy handmade items. Once the craft circuit died, that was when Wally World stepped in with Cheap-Chinese-Junk. I closed my studio.

The Left slowly killed tiny home businesses. They were also the ones who said I was “inferior” for not working outside of the home and for thinking my chosen life was of any worth.

The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Maybe that is why they hate my kind & want to destroy those who chose to succeed with hard work, save for the future, including for a pension to make our retirements comfortable.

I check “Other” and write in “Celt”. My ancestors on both sides hail from Ireland, most who descended from what is now known as a Celtic tribe (their names for themselves is long gone). Though... I am sure there is some Viking/Scandinavian in there, like most with similar ancestries.

I do it just to mess with the Labeler’s heads, not that there is anything bigger than a shard of bird shot rattling around in there.

I recently read there are some northern tribes who did not migrate to Africa during the last Ice Age, finding evidence in areas whose glaciers are finally melting off.

For some entertainment, point out that Arabs are of the Caucasian race, some have darker skin because of their ancestry and where they live in relation to the equator, and that some Asian ancestries have “ darkened” skins for the same reason. You can see their veins pop in their heads. Laughing at them when it does, brings even more entertainment, though I am surprised they do not have epilectic-like fits when their BB brains start pinging in response.

Once a year, this twit does something, then claims “racists” are out to get her. I think the last time it was a coil of rope, (she called it a noose... It was not), was left on her steps by racists.

Why it took her family this long to come forward is beyond me. She must be an embarrassment, yet, not warning the public she is down to one crushed fruit loop is irresponsible.

Spokane and Coeur d’Alene has problems with this sort of thing. Two Asian women spray painted racial stuff around their store, telling the MSM that they were scared, and so forth. Turns out they did it. Like a lot of so-called “threats” of similar nature at colleges.

Something happened to many of the last few generations. Maybe it was too much TV and getting a trophy every time they wipe their rears. If they do not get constant attention and approval, they go bonkers.

  • Why CalPERS retirees flee California

My husband was force-retired after being seriously injured doing his job. He PAID into his retirement, insurances, all taxes, SS, forced high union dues, etc., for 20 years. (To receive his pension, he can never receive SS, ever, btw.)

On $30K, we cannot afford to live in CA. We still pay for insurances, even the forced maternity & “gender reassignment” higher amounts dictated by the criminals in charge. We used to live in the Sierras when it was affordable. The Bay area swooped in, making the COL insane. We had to sell our home when he was injured. Once the retirement went through, we bought a home in northern ID where our savings was enough for the 25% down payment.

I do not like being over 1000 miles away from my daughter and grandchildren, but love living here. We grow a good portion of our food and can use a wood stove to heat, cutting costs down. Taxes are somewhat reasonable. As long as I budget carefully, we are okay.

He NEVER voted with the union, except on safely issues. One coworker, rightly, commented that the union would lobby them out of a job. He was right, the CYA was assimulted into the corrections system after my husband was out of there.

For those who think that the majority who paid into the system, get the average $30K per year, still pay for insurances and the like, is “unfair” and we should be punished because a state has been run by the socialist/ commies we never voted for or policies we voted against, wants more monies to continue giving out a free living to those who never paid into the system, including the criminal illegals the state supports?

My husband earned his retirement. He owes CA nothing, nor does he owe those who are... jealous?, because we got out if that fascist state.

If one wants to have fits over the CalPERS pensions then look to the politicians who forced CalPERS to give them high pensions and other bennies without paying one thin dime into it, or those high in various agencies who get promoted by their political buddies just long enough to get an unearned high pension.

For those who still want us to be punished for being intelligent enough to leave, you can all kiss my middle-aged backside.

Mine will not eat the mice. After trapping 16 there is one left. I am about ready to shoot thing. They chase any other traveling protein, but not the mice for some reason. Once a month I have my husband chop up beef liver for a treat. I cannot stand liver, even cutting it up for the chickens is vomitus to me. It is best to put it in their treat bowl, get into the yard quickly and keep your hands out of the way. Wear full clothing. They start snapping and jumping a good 3 feet in the air when they see the bowl come out. They also go bonkers for cottage cheese and yogurt. They dance for a fat mormon cricket. The woman who processes chickens says she has to lock up their huge flock when they do their weekend slaughter, or the chickens will jump on the tables, trying to eat everything up. These people sell all the parts so do not want to lose any bits. ick...

The chickens have an enclosed pen around their coop, an A-frame with hardware cloth around the bottom to close up at night, besides their trapdoor. They also have a chicken tractor to take them out to the meadow, and a moveable fence we set up so they can range further, but still have the tractor for protection. We have golden eagles, besides bald eagles. Goldens, along with the hawks, are thick and a threat to the chickens around here. Free range means dead chickens. The guy at the beginning of our road still buys an older flock and lets them free range every year. Every year they are dead on the train tracks by his house within a month. Idiot.

I could not eat eggs for 15 years, having a severe allergy to them. I found out it was the soy I was reacting to. I am in egg heaven now. We were accidentally given 4 cocks. We kept one and the others became “3 Stooges Soup”. My flock gets organic soy-free feed with fish for the protein. I have a mealworm “farm” in the craft room for winter feeding. Snow makes it hard to scratch in the dirt and meadow.

Before planting in the various garden areas, I set up the fence and let them clean, “till” and fertilize the area for me.

I do not have enough hens for Elvis, the rooster. Poor things are featherless on their backs. I was told to put the saddles on them. Oh yeah, I am supposed to make them saddles and get them to wear them?! laughing...

Socialist/Communists tend to not breed. That is a good thing. The only reason there are any left at all is because they took control of the educational system, turning it into indoctrination camps.

Even with pulling one’s children from the system, they are forced to pay for them with their tax dollars. I am still trying to figure out how that is legal... And the validity of a class-action suit. Forced socialist indoctrination “schooling” along with forced Islam “diversity” class paid for with public tax dollars seems to violate the 1st amendment, yes?

The flatlanders that think they can survive in the mountains are nothing more than food for the forest critters. Of course, the critters need to eat...

I have yet to read one mention on prep articles on clothing, as in repair and making them. Clothing is now made so cheaply, it will not make it through a few wash boardings.

Having a home too small to wedge a treadle machine along with my old all-metal electric sewing machine, I have a hand crank machine. A 99K Singer will sew nicely through leather, or silk. Plenty of threads and material on hand, especially the heavy materials like duck, broadcloth and muslin. I also have 2 spinning wheels, a loom and knitting tools, along with plenty of wool and cotton. Wool socks, hats, Möbius scarves and gloves are on hand around here.

I am learning to quilt, making “window quilts” for extra insulation on the windows, as my learning tool.

Those who can, rarely mention canning meats or meals with meat. I have yet to read about the importance of having plenty of fats on hand, or how to render them for eating or soap making. Lard and tallow boosts the calorie intake, and they are good for you.

You can dehydrate eggs, though the USDA and “experts” go into fits at the idea. Great protein additive. Powdered eggs are not too bad, if the hens are in their down season for egg production.

What is sad is the loss of the pelts. Wolf, coyote and fox make lovely coats. They could of sold the pelts to a furrier instead of trashing them.

There was not enough wolves on the list. During spring, summer and fall, I have to take my dog out to potty in the evening fully armed in case a bloody wolf treks through. The wolves are decimating the moose, elk, deer and caribou up here. Beautiful canine, but too dangerous to keep anywhere but a zoo.

Knocking on wood, the grizzlies have not gone after our chickens... so far. Bears love black oil sunflower seeds, which can sometimes be in the chicken yard. We used to have bird/squirrel feeders at the edges of the property until the bears ripped them off the trees to consume the seeds.

That “tsk” sound is common with people who have bridges and capped teeth, at least I hear that coming from people that I know with those forms of dental work. I think spit collects and they are sucking it down before speaking, from the sound it makes. It is nauseating.

I have no clue to what a “vocal fry” is, nor do I care to know.

When we used to eat at restaurants, I was infamous for changing tables, even moving across the room, to avoid having to watch some slob eating with their gobs open. It was more prevalent in young “adults”. My granddaughter used to do that. I gave her 3 chances, by gently putting my finger on her lips and giving her the Nana Eye. The fourth time, I took her silverware and dumped them in the sink and put her plate down with the dog dishes. If she was going to eat like a dog, she could do so properly.

    Cured that one.

First- Good news, Johnny. I was thinking of you when we got the tobacco seeds started. ;)

Weird, but I plant and start seeds by the moon. Experiments I have done proved that it has improved our yields by quite a bit. In our cool climate, that is something. We got the nightshades in a mini indoor greenhouse in the garage. The Husband gets the tending job for that. I do better with the dirt outside.

I tried growing in our meadow and the yields have not been all that great. That area will be tilled, fenced and get wheat, something that does well here. The rest of my various garden areas are getting complete redos- tilled under with the copious amounts of chicken poo from last winter, resetting of the garden beds, trellis added, and so on. I figure the pain of the physical job ahead will wear off about September. It sucks to be middle-aged at times. (grin)

When we had out chimney and wood stove installed last fall, the owner was admiring the spa in the back. We rarely used it, and it needed some servicing we cannot afford. We told him if he could haul it off, it was his. This gave us a huge area for tobacco we could protect from the nicotine addicted deer and elk, the Husband another shooting area as a bonus. The area abuts a small hill, perfect as a “backstop”.

We spread that area with the chicken poo and mulch they made from the straw in their yard. After being tilled and worked, it will be a great growing spot. I am doing the same with a lower area that gets rather warm, giving a short-season corn a try. Corn is very hard to grow up here.

For seeds, I get a local small seed seller’s offerings, along with High Mowing Seeds, Irish Eyes and Johnny’s. I am trying some of Ed Hume’s this year, along with some other place’s offering of Alaskan seeds, just to see if sub-arctic varieties of tomatoes will do better here.

On top of redoing the garden, I am still working on our floors. I got the great room/kitchen done. 2 bedrooms and the craft room to go, sanding each board, oiling, sanding, nailing, waxing... While cookjing from scratch, making soap, sewing quilt “ curtains” and maybe a few dresses, before I have to start canning and such this summer.

    I rarely sit still.

My daughter and I noticed that those born during DST prefer it more than those of us born during normal time.

I detest DST and ignore it except for when I have an appt. Around here in northern Idaho, small businesses have winter and summer hours. It works. Those who want more sun time off work can do so.

I live by “chicken time” these days. It goes by natural sunrise to natural sunset. The chickens could not give one cluck what the gummit-dictated time demands. If the sun is up, I better get my narrow, middle-aged backside outside and let them out of the coop and feed them or the ruckus of squawks and Elvis the rooster crowing to be heard in the next state will be deafening.

You are very right! We eat that way.

Our granddaughter started having a lot of ailments, including digestion troubles, infections, etc., when she moved out at age 18. She blamed it on her job as a hairdresser. She was eating at fast “food” places almost exclusively and drinking only soda and almond “milk”. She was putting on weight, though she was listening to the dogma of non- or low-fat and phony sugars as the “cure”. My daughter and I warned her if she stayed on her course, she would end up obese and sickly. One needs real food and fats, along with lots of good proteins, to be healthy.

Today, she had emergency gallbladder removal surgery at age 19. The surgeon said it was her diet. It does not take long to destroy one’s digestive system. When the digestive system goes wonky, so does the rest of the systems, like a row of dominos.

She will HAVE to eat a very low carb, high protein and real fats diet. That means no grains, (like cookies, cakes, bread...), soda, etc. Paleo-like diet will be her lifestyle, or, if she eats the American idiot medical recommendation of diet, end up with immediate evacuation of her bowels after every meal. Even the recommendated drugs will not stop it, though it enriches the drug companies.

Poor kid. She thought mom and Nana were food nazis and wrong. Now, she will have a lifetime of no goodies. At least she can have bacon and eggs, but without the biscuits and gravy. Okay, gravy on the fried-in-coconut oil/butter ‘tators.

She will have to finally put down her phone and learn to cook.
