While most of the nation is still reeling from the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut and continues to mourn the innocent victims, others are already working to exploit the horrific event for political gain. After all, as President Obama's former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel once infamously said, "you never want a serious crisis to go to waste" because a crisis provides an "opportunity to do things that you think [sic] you could not do before."

*Thursday, December 13* Cincinnati (7-6) at Philadelphia (4-9) - 8:20 p.m. (Line: Cincinnati by 3.5) Bengals WR A.J. Green is on pace for 97 receptions this season. The Eagles got their first victory since September last week. ---RJ's Pick: Cincinnati by 8 *Sunday, December 16* New York Giants (8-5) at Atlanta (11-2) - 1:00 p.m. (Line: ATLANTA BY 2) A matchup of division-leading teams. The Giants are just a game ahead of both Washington and Dallas in the NFC East. The Falcons have already wrapped up the NFC South, with a five-game lead over second place Tampa Bay. The Giants...

Chicago (8-4) at Minnesota (6-6) - 1:00 p.m. (Line: Chicago by 3) The Bears have lost three of their last four games. Their lone victory in that stretch came against Minnesota. The Vikings are 5-1 at home this year. Quarterback Christian Ponder has thrown for more than 200 yards just twice in his last six games, and for more than 150 yards just three times in his last six outings. ---RJ's Pick: Minnesota by 3 New York Jets (5-7) at Jacksonville (2-10) - 1:00 p.m. (Line: New York Jets by 2.5) As of this writing, no one knows who will...

I went 10-6 last week straight up, and 12-3-1 against the spread. *Sunday, December 2* Indianapolis 7-4 at Detroit 4-7 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: DETROIT by 4.5) The outcome of this game doesn't really matter much to me, as a Lions fan. They ain't making the playoffs this year. But I am interested to see how many times Ndamukong Suh "accidentally" kicks Colts QB Andrew Luck in the nuts. ---RJ's Pick: Lions by 8 Jacksonville 2-9 at Buffalo 4-7 - 1:00 p.m. (Line: BUFFALO by 6) A crappy warm weather team going to play in a cold weather city in...

*Sunday, November 25* Minnesota (6-4) at Chicago (7-3) 1:00 p.m. (Line: No Line) The Vikings would move into a three-way tie for first place in the NFC North with a win here and a loss by the Packers on Sunday Night Football. There is no line for this game as of this writing presumably due to the fact that Jay Cutler's status is up in the air. I think he'll play. ---RJ's Pick: Bears by 9 Oakland (3-7) at Cincinnati (5-5) 1:00 p.m. (Line: Cincinnati by 7) The Raiders have lost three straight, while the Bengals have won two in...

Green Bay 6-3 @ Detroit 4-5 at 1:00 p.m. (Line: PACKERS BY 3.5) Packers LB Clay Matthews is out of the lineup this week with a hamstring injury. The Lions are the only team in the NFC North with a losing record, but they are 2-1 at home this season. ---RJ's Pick: Detroit by 2

I went 12-2 straight up last week, and 10-4 against the spread. What follows are my picks for the NFL's Week 10: *Thursday, November 8* Indianapolis (5-3) at Jacksonville (1-7) - 8:20 p.m. (Line: Colts by 3) The Colts have won three in a row. The Jaguars have dropped five straight. They are winless at home this season and have the most inept offense in the league in terms of points per game, passing yards per game, and total yards per game. - RJ's Pick: Indianapolis by 7

This is now the third consecutive presidential election in which I have made my state-by-state predictions for Blogcritics Magazine. In 2004, I was pretty good. In 2008, I was pretty bad. So I suppose we can consider 2012 to be the rubber match, or something.

Gov. Mitt Romney seemingly has a greater than 50-to-1 advantage in the number of retired admirals and generals who have publicly endorsed his campaign, compared the number that have endorsed President Barack Obama’s effort.

I went 10-4 straight up last week, and 7-7 against the spread. For the season, that puts me at 72-46 and 50-63-5 against the spread. For a comparison, check out the "experts" over at ESPN.com. What follows are my picks for the NFL's Week Nine: **Thursday, November 1** Kansas City 1-6 at San Diego 3-4 - 8:20 p.m. (Line: SD by 7) The Chiefs have lost four in a row. They are ranked 29th in the league in both points scored per game and points allowed per game. Matt Cassel has thrown 10 INTs and lost six fumbles so far...

Lot of things have changed since then, though. Like, for example: Silver's preferred candidate losing the independent vote.

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year.

I went 11-2 last week straight up, and 6-5-2 against the spread. Here are my picks for the NFL's Week Eight: Seattle 4-3 at Detroit 2-4 - 1:00 p.m. [Line: Lions by 2] I know I'm a total homer, but the Lions should really be at least 4-2 right now. They haven't lost a game by more than eight points this season. The only game where they were truly outplayed was a Week Two loss on the road to the 49ers. The Seahawks are just 1-3 on the road and have the second-worst offense in the league in terms of...

*Thursday, October 18* Seattle 4-2 at San Francisco 4-2 - 8:20 p.m. [Line: SF by 7] Two of the league's top defenses square off. The 49ers have a much better offense than the Seahawks, and they also have home field advantage. But don't expect a blowout. -RJ's Pick: San Francisco by 3

*Thursday, October 11* Pittsburgh (2-2) at Tennessee (1-4) 8:20 p.m. [Line: Steelers by 5.5] Unfrozen Caveman Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is quietly having arguably his best season, with a 100.6 passer rating, eight TD passes, and just one INT. He's completing about 66% of his passes, and is on pace for nearly 4,500 passing yards this year. Also, no lost fumbles. RB Chris Johnson has rushed for more than 24 yards in a game only once this season. He has a total of 210 rushing yards through five games. At this rate, the Titans are paying him about $12,000 per yard....

Every time Biden says "GM is still alive and Osama is dead," roll your eyes and take a sip. - If Biden screws it up and says "Obama is dead," take a chug. - If Ryan responds by saying "al-Qaeda is still alive and your ambassador is dead," finish your drink.

Thursday, October 4 Arizona (4-0) at St. Louis (2-2) 8:20 p.m. [Line: Arizona by 1] The Cardinals are undefeated, but could easily be 1-3. They had a come-from-behind victory in Week One against Seattle, a win against New England in Week Two that would have been a loss if Stephen Gostkowski hadn't missed a field goal in the closing seconds, and they beat Miami last week in overtime after tying the game up with less than a minute to go in the 4th quarter. The Rams are 2-0 at home. -RJ's Pick: Rams by 3

In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.
