You know it is interesting how the mind works. You ponder the news over the last several days, news that US Military intelligence had Mohammed Atta cold, knew he was leading an Al Qaeda cell, knew he was aligned with Bin Laden, (who Clinton had once yucked it up about, saying "heh, heh...we tried to kill him, but we missed him.." Or something along those lines. Well shoot...). And yet information about Bin Laden's right hand being in country never reached the President. Maybe he was just too busy showing Chelsea around Africa or something. We learn that the reason...
  • Cindy Sheehan: modern day Tokyo Rose

The media circus around this Cindy Sheehan nonsense defies the imagination. One has only to tune into Shawn Hannity or Laura Ingraham or any other daily right-of-center talk show in order to be treated to countless examples of proud parents of dead servicemen and women phoning in to thank the hosts, thank President Bush, and to support the war effort in general. I mean, this happens so often that it is hardly even worth mention. But then you take one look at the spectacle around this "look at me, feel sorry for me" publicity hound Cindy Sheehan, together with the...
  • The Apologists Among Us (MUST READING)

From Norm Geras in the UK (with a hat tip to Glenn Reynolds for the reference), possibly the most coherent and powerful argument I have ever read regarding those among us who are apologists for our enemies. I rank this right up there with some of Bill Whittle's fine work: OK, it's more than time to nail this. Within hours of the bombs going off last Thursday the voices one could have predicted began to make themselves heard with their putative explanations for the murder and maiming of a random group of tube and bus passengers in London. It was...
  • Apocalypse now? WND reports AQ Nukes are already in the US

A very sobering report on the Wide Awakes site about the penetration of our borders by multiple nuclear weapons (first reported by World Net Daily). The report states that intel captured from Al Qaeda indicates nukes were purchased mostly from Chechnya and will be detonated simultaneously in multiple American cities.

Edward Whelan makes a great point in National Review Online: appointing Alberto Gonzalez to the Supreme Court could prove to be disastrous in the War on Terror...
  • An attack on us all -- how will we respond THIS time?

When I heard about the terror attacks in London this morning, my initial thought was that this might solidify our Anglo Saxon brothers' resolve in fighting those who would take all of our freedoms away, and who would impose a tyrannical 9th century death culture on everyone -- if they don't kill us first. Thus, my first thought was: as 9/11 was for America, so too might the 7/7 attacks be a moment that will unify the British public against our common enemy; perhaps it would even be a turning point in the wider War or Terror.
  • BIDEN WANTS TO REINSTATE DRAFT

I had an instantaneous reaction today when I saw what Joe Biden had said: I thought: "some Republican can use this". It is almost as if Biden was doing this purely for political show; appearing to be the liberal Democrat who (along with Charles Rangel?) is just facing the geopolitical reality for the sake of our national defense, yada yada--when the irony is that it the Democrats are the party which would be far more likely to install a draft if in power.
  • The public's right to know about Kerry's form 180

Last week, when the Boston Globe made public that John Kerry's grades at Yale were not as good as were President Bush's, lost in the ensuing reporting of that fact was the hidden fact that, in order for the Globe to have access to Kerry's grades, John Kerry had to sign the infamous Form 180 -- the form that authorizes the release of Kerry's military records.
