One of the clues on tonight's Jeopardy was to name the city where Ambassador Stevens was killed. It occurred to me that Jeopardy had provided more coverage of the Benghazi terrorist attack than NBC.

Just received an e-mail from IBM HR about 2011 benefits: You should be aware that health care cost increases for 2011 -- in addition to the normal inflationary trends -- also are affected by health care reform requirements, which affect both IBM and you. For example, raising the age for dependent coverage from age 23 to 26 contributes somewhat to higher costs for businesses, as we must now all extend coverage to greater numbers of young adults.

NCAA Finals Taken Over by Federal Government. Spectators in Detroit were first stunned and then elated when the federal government took over the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Game. Tim "TurboTax" Geithner strode onto the court at halftime and announced the Federal government is forced to step in and bail out a floundering Michigan State team. Congress had rushed through the Unified Sports Scoring Reform (USSR) Act giving Geithner the authority to determine and then enforce a fair outcome to the game. Under USSR, the following provisions were immediately put into effect, tilting the game in Michigan State's favor: UNC's 18...

We keep hearing from the 0bamaniacs that Barry's election would be so "historic". McCain should at least mention that his election, bringing along the country's first female Vice President, would be historic as well. Might take some of the allure off "the one" (really "the zero").

In case someone tells you our casualties in Iraq are still high, because 2007 was the worst year, I put together the following two graphs. The first show US losses by month in terms of average lost per day. The second shows a rolling three-month average, smoothing out the variations somewhat. The three-month average is now lower than at any other time since the war began.

Liberal Logic. Here's a summary of the Democrat party's view on Homeland Security: In late 2001, the PATRIOT ACT was a necessary tool for fighting terrorism. It passed with bipartisan support by wide margins. According the Congressional Democrats, everything President Bush has done for the last four years has increased the danger to us. Now, we no longer need the PATRIOT ACT.

We have obtained a document discovered in Iraq from the files of the Iraqi Intelligence Service (IIS). The report provides new evidence of links between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

The 1993 document, in Arabic, bears the logo of the Iraqi intelligence agency and is labeled "top secret" on each of its 20 pages.

  • Is the footage in the Kerry NY commercials real? (vanity)

(First post - please forgive any screw-ups)New York is now being tortured by Kerry and Edwards commercials. Kerry's, of course, shows him in Vietnam. A couple of days ago this article came out in "The Hill" about how he returned to the scene of one battle and recreated the episode with a movie camera. Could the footage in the commercial be from that? Inquiring minds want to know.
