I did notice that in 2003, a lot of the women quite wearing professional attire and started wearing business casual. In some cases, I wouldn't even call the wardrobe business casual. Frankly, a number of the women looked better dressed professionally, rather than in casual attire. The clothes just weren't flattering.
In the last year or so, I've noticed that the attire has become more professional, although it remains less formal on weekends.
I did read an article by a lawyer who handles discrimination cases against employers, and he thinks Marney's suit doesn't have a lot of merit. For one thing TWC laid off 28 people, including Marney, during a reorganization in 2003.
I can think of several on-camera people who left during 2003. Paul Emmick is gone. I think he is with a TV station in Indianapolis. Another gentleman, whose name escapes me, is now at CNN. Then there was the woman who used to handle the morning shift on Saturdays and Sundays with Bob Stokes. She's gone.
And frankly, Marney wasn't on camera that much in the last few years. She was on only if someone else was on vacation or, more often, someone went on maternity leave. Most frequently, she was on with Marshall Seese during the first couple of weeks of Heather Tesch's maternity leaves.
