ination to the Supreme Court made by President Barack Obama, the White House is surely gearing up for a strategic nomination and epic battle for the future of the highest court in the country. Obama needs to move forward quickly with a transformative nominee who stands a chance of success on Capitol Hill. Diane Humetewa, U.S. District Judge for the District of Arizona is perhaps the most likely person to advance through Senate confirmation during Obama's final year in office. Nominating her would transform the federal judiciary, bring Native Americans into the highest echelons of political society, and actually stand...

"It is SO nasty out there—I don’t recall a primary season EVER this hostile—but then again, until now, we’ve always allowed the GOP to pick our candidates. A woman whose pickup truck was stolen has had the vehicle returned after an awful pencil drawing she posted online went viral . Zaira Salazar Medina didn't have a photo of her car so instead sketched the 1991 Nissan from memory and posted it on Facebook in a bid to track it down. The amateur drawing caused a stir on social media and sparked a flurry of memes with people editing the image into scenarios of the car in various places.

  • Is Obola Trying To Kill Our Military?

Since the eighties, our military has been shrinking. This is deliberate. It's not about saving money or new technology making so many military bases unnecessary(I believe these were a couple of the excuses they used when they closed all those bases) Now they're sending our best to the ebola hellhole in Africa. How many of these elite forces have the special training needed to carry out their mission safely? I believe obola has something really bad planned for his last days in office. Something so evil that our military might finally rise up and deal with it. People say obola...

    Vallejo Times Herald ^ | 7/16/2011 | Tony Burchyns
SAN FRANCISCO - The Yemeni man accused of trying to storm the cockpit of a San Francisco-bound flight in May will be examined to determine his competency to stand trial, his attorney said Friday. A federal judge in San Francisco appointed a doctor to evaluate Rageh Almurisi, 26, starting next week, Almurisi's attorney Christopher Morales said. The U.S. Attorney's Office raised no objection to the decision. Almurisi, who has family in Vallejo, was physically subdued and later arrested on May 8 after allegedly yelling "God is Great" in Arabic and pounding on the cockpit door of American Airlines Flight 1561...

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) today led a bipartisan group of senators in introducing the Ensuring Pay for Our Military Act of 2011, S. 724, to assure that military personnel continue to be paid in the event of a government shutdown. The lawmakers urged efforts to prevent a shutdown of government operations, but stressed that a contingency plan must be in place for our service men and women.
  • My Son's Biology Homework(writing to George Miller About Education Reform?)

    My Son ^ | 3/9/11 | Califreak
My son came home and told me all about his day in school. His biology teacher wants the class to gather statistics so they can write to George Miller, Jerry Brown or Gavin Newsom regarding education reform. This might be acceptable if it was for a government/civics class, but it is for biology. If his teacher is so concerned about education reform, shouldn't she be teaching the subject at hand and not trying to drag the entire class into the political arena? He had a substitute for spanish class who was raving about 2012 doomsday prophecy. I called the school...

    The Diablo Dispatch ^ | 11/4/10 | Cody Schaaf
In one of the most critical midterm elections in recent years, Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer won over Whitman and Fiorina, both by at least 10% while on the national level, Republicans took back a majority of seats in the house, with 239 to Democrat’s 18, and Democrats kept their hold on the Senate, with 51 to 46. California kept true to its blue roots, choosing Brown over Whitman in a time when the Democratic vote is not the most popular one. His 13% lead over Whitman was predicted, however, as Whitman’s image had faltered with the public in the...
  • Brown says he's ready to govern people 'openly committed to their inadequate ideas'

Jerry Brown smiled. The Democratic gubernatorial nominee was halfway through his stump speech Monday morning in San Diego when the crowd in the courtyard of Café Coyote started chanting his name: “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” It was the 10th campaign stop in three days, and with three more rallies to go, Brown basked in the support. “I wish when things got tough I could just invoke that name and something would happen,” he said, to laughter. “Unfortunately, that only works in campaigns. When it gets to government, it’s a little more trench warfare through the ideological minefields and small-mindedness of people...
