Yes, she was stupid but that doesn’t absolve the man from his responsibilities, not only to the child but to her. He apparently lied to her for years and allowed the child to be born when he could have used birth control(like rubbers, for instance)to prevent that. He didn’t, he is much more culpable than she is, for he knew he never intended for their relationship to be permanent, she didn’t. Her crime is being stupid and believing him, his is lying and deliberately taking advantage. He deserves a lot more than a $50,000 fine.

In this case I would say the court is correct. This isn't a simple case of breach of promise as the headline implies, it is a case of a couple living together and planning a life together, plus she now has a child by this guy and he should take care of his kid, regardless of how he came by it. $50,000 sounds kind of tame compared to what the could be paying out in child support payments.

That's because they weren't qualified to attend to begin with. The problem is affirmative action and PC. Let them stand on their own and many will do better, don't pass them just because they are black and teach them that "acting white" is not evil but to be desired. I am a member of a Sutter Health group up here in Northern CA. I just went into the emergency room two weeks ago, with a cut. Took 3 stitches, billed me a total of 300 bucks, after insurance it was 12 bucks. That was for about 3 hours lying in the treatment room because the doc was so busy.

The Beatles broke up because they were 4 greedy a**hats trying to work together. They didn’t care about each other, only the fame and money they made, therefore they broke up. The same reason they trashed Pete Best without a second thought and took on Ringo.

American authorities(and many ordinary people)make a big deal out of going fast on a freeway. The fact is parts of the autobahn in Germany are no speed limit and cars routinely do 200 MPH or better. Very few accidents, a much lower accident rate than American freeways. Several reasons for this, one is that it costs like he** to get a drivers license in Germany, second is the cops actually enforce the “slow cars in the right lane” rule.

As has been pointed out repeatedly on FR, there are several makers of non-lead bullets in the USA, they work quite well. Barnes bullets is the maker I am most familiar with and I know there ammo is great.

Make no mistake, banning lead bullets is definitely an attempt to keep people from having ammo but it hasn't worked and won't work.

That is not exactly true. The fact is the maker used the same general plan on all species, instead of re-inventing the wheel, so to speak, each time he made a new species. We have more in common with some fruits than we do with pigs.

I read, you might try that sometime, that he was carrying an ounce of some type of illegal drug and that is why he went to jail, not the pizza. Unless he stole the pizza using a firearm or other weapon(armed robbery is a felony) he would not be sentenced to life without parole. Anyone who thinks this is true, including you, is a flat out idiot. These stories are made up, fabricated, twisted in order to gain sympathy for doing away with the three strikes laws. The same way stories are fabricated, made up and twisted in order to get rid of Stand your ground laws.

You can't amp up the charges on a petty theft case. These stories are contrived, just as many things the left does are contrived and faked. You can't change a misdemeanor to a felony unless there was a felony committed, in the case of Zimmerman the charges should never have been brought but the fact that he shot someone could easily be construed as a felony, not so when we are talking about stealing a slice of pizza.

These people did something other that what is being reported, period, that is why they went to jail for life.

Let me get this straight, the three strikes laws pertain to committing 3 felonies, stealing a slice of pizza is NOT a felony it is a misdemeanor. In fact all the so called crimes listed here are misdemeanors and therefore would not have landed any of these people in jail for life.

Anyone who has committed 2 felonies knows about the three strikes law and should keep their hands off other people's property, that said this story, and others like it, is a phony, there is more to these cases them a simple misdemeanor charge sending someone to life without parole.

Remember, in a labor union, the union bosses become the new "management." You are simply trading out one set of bosses for another set of bosses. And the union bosses don't care if they bleed the company dry so it has to fold up. As for the workers, screw them. They need to go find some other job. That's how they operate.

Yep, and also out of those new high wages comes new high Union dues which makes the new wages shrink down to about the old wages.

I lived through this crap and the Union ruined a place I worked at for 35 years, refusing to negotiate on wages and healthcare so the company simply sold to a guy who closed it up, he bought it for the timber, didn't want the mill or the workers.

Yes, but I qualified my statement by stating "killing tanks". Taking out a tread doesn't kill one, only stops its forward progress. It can still shoot. I would think they could do a job on heavy tank treads also, if you fired several rounds into them.

At the time of WWII a 37MM was considered too light of a gun, although some of our light and medium tanks had them, also the German Mark III, one of their best in the early part of the war, was armed with a 50MM, it fell short rather quickly when it came to killing other tanks. The Mark IV, which was their main battle tank, had a 75MM, but it was out numbered by the Mark IIIs.

The .55 caliber boys was woefully under powered for tanks of that era. Even our bazooka at the start of the war was inadequate when it came to the Panther and Tiger. 2.75 inch if I remember correctly, led to the development of the 3.5 inch.
