BETHESDA, Md. - Since the Iraq war began in 2003, it has become an annual pre- Christmas rite for President Bush to personally comfort wounded soldiers. He continued that tradition Wednesday, going bed-to-bed in an intensive care unit and handing out Purple Hearts to the valiant. Bush was visiting with Marines wounded in Iraq and the medical staff treating them at the National Naval Medical Center here. Before going behind closed doors to spend about two hours with servicemen and women, Bush spoke briefly to medical care givers and troops able to leave their rooms.

Don't know how many people are aware of it, but President Bush today visited Greece Athena High School, in Greece New York to explain his proposal for Social Security. Althought there was a small protest of his visit and 3 arrests of people crossing the barriers, his visit went very well. Directly after the Presidents address, I received a prerecorded message from the office of Elliot Spitzer, informing me that there is going to be a staged protest in Downtown Rochester, New York at 1:30pm and was 'encouraged' to join in protest against President Bush's Social Security inititive to 'privatize'...

I had to post this when this paragraph jumped out at me. " Otherwise, they said, for example, the press could not have reported last year on the charges lodged against Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth because Kerry's supporters said their charges were false."

Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 9:20 a.m. EST Bush: Clinton 'Disgraced the Nation' President Bush had some choice words for both his predecessor Bill Clinton and his likely opponent, Al Gore, in the tapes recorded by historian Doug Wead two years before Bush ran for the White House and excerpted by the New York Times on Sunday. Speaking in 1998, when news headlines were filled with lurid details of Mr. Clinton's involvement with intern Monica Lewinsky, Bush decried the investigation into the scandal, telling Wead, "I don't like it either."

I've been having a problem lately when I log on to the internet. It seems that a program is being generated by something else on my computer, usually with numbers (example: 32415.exe), which opens a new webpage and then suddenly disappears. I have to do a 'CTRL-ALT-DEL' and 'end' the program. Then I go into /Windows/System subdirectory and delete it. The problem is, I've run Ad-Aware and spybot and they just don't seem to find the program that generates these things. It happens nearly everytime I log on the internet. I'm sure it's a data mining program, but I just...

Bereuter: War in Iraq not justified by don walton In a dramatic departure from the Bush administration, Republican Rep. Doug Bereuter says he now believes the U.S. military assault on Iraq was unjustified. "I've reached the conclusion, retrospectively, now that the inadequate intelligence and faulty conclusions are being revealed, that all things being considered, it was a mistake to launch that military action," Bereuter wrote in a letter to constituents in the final days of his congressional career. That's especially true in view of the fact that the attack was initiated "without a broad and engaged international coalition," the 1st...

By MICHAEL VIRTANEN, Associated Press Writer ALBANY, N.Y. - A key piece of evidence against a jailed mosque leader accused of supporting terrorism has come into question, with federal prosecutors acknowledging that a note found in a terrorist camp may have been mistranslated. Yassin Muhiddin Aref is charged with aiding a government informant in a sting operation involving a fake plot to buy a shoulder-fired missile to assassinate a Pakistani diplomat. Seems 'commander' should have been 'brother'. But the AP thinks the whole case is 'bogus'. Typical.
