  • ABC News: Some Say U.S. No Longer Feels Like Home (gag alert)

Nov. 10, 2004 -- Leora Dowling and her husband thought returning from deep in "red" America to her native New England would make them feel more comfortable, more like the people around them shared their values. Since the election, she's been contemplating another move. To Italy. "After the election, my husband and I asked ourselves, 'How could our country be heading backward? How could so many people miss or choose to ignore the obvious failures of the Bush administration?'" the former Florida resident said. Dowling, a college professor who lives with her husband in Vermont, is not alone in feeling...
  • This is the saddest quote I may have ever read (election-related):

"It's definitely the war," said Eliana Deutsch, 20, of San Diego, explaining why she came out. "People see these soldiers who are 18 and don't have an education, and they're over there dying. It's really sad that that (the military) is their best option." This makes me irate. What a spoiled brat. Most of our service men are highly educated (ever heard of West Point?) I had several close friends in college who CHOSE to join the military. I think it is an intelligent, BRAVE choice to join the service. I am just lost for words right now. What nerve....and...

Edwards Says Democrats Will Fight for Every Vote Email this Story Nov 3, 2:44 AM (ET) BOSTON (Reuters) - Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards, signaling that the party still hoped to win the close-fought U.S. election, said early on Wednesday that it would "fight for every vote." With the tally in the crucial state of Ohio very tight and potentially hanging on 150,000 uncounted provisional ballots, Edwards told supporters in Boston that he and Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts would not give in. "John Kerry and I have made a promise to the American people that...
  • What station did you watch last night for election coverage?

Yes, this is a vanity, but please don't flame me. I am curious what station you watched last night for election results? And why were there 2 different Fox broadcasts (one with Shephard Smith and the other had Brit Hume)? I was actually not as impressed with Fox as I hoped I'd be, I found their panel fairly dull - CBS was a joke of course, NBC and ABC were actually not all that vomit-inducing as I expected them to be. But Today show sure looked and acted glum this morning! I am just so excited for President Bush

  • Objectively, what do you think will happen on Election DAy?

    10/19/2004 10:24:57 AM PDT · by AuburnJenn · 97 replies · 1,726+ views
I am a new poster here and am so thankful I've found this forum. I love President Bush, but am so concerned about what will happen. All this talk about "preemptively claiming voter fraud" and the thought of another Flordia mess makes me worry - the thought of Kerry being elected downright scares me. I don't like the way he is flat-out lying to people my age (20s) about the draft, and scaring the elderly -- so many people are uninformed and buy into all the Michael Moore-esque garbage. Living in the South, I only know a handful of folks...
