HOPE MILLS, N.C. -- A Special Forces soldier who recently returned from Afghanistan and his two young daughters are dead after he tried to rescue them from their burning home near a North Carolina military post. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says 36-year-old Edward Cantrell and his daughters, 6-year-old Isabella and 4-year-old Natalia, all died in the fire early Tuesday near Fort Bragg. LAWRENCE, Mass. - The FBI is searching for a 27-year-old Lawrence man wanted for killing a 15-month-old toddler in Maine earlier this week. Police describe the suspect, Edgard Anziani, as a Hispanic male, about 6 feet 1 inches tall, 175 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and possibly four tattoos. He is a citizen of the Dominican Republic and a permanent resident of the United States. He is known to be violent, according to the FBI. Police said Anziani killed the child on Tuesday in Bangor, Maine. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his capture.

KILLEEN — About 30 Killeen residents quickly gathered Tuesday afternoon to drown out four members of a fringe Kansas church who arrived at Fort Hood to protest the soldiers killed in Thursday’s shootings. (CNN) -- Five people, including a church pastor, were shot inside the First Baptist Church of Maryville, Illinois, a police dispatcher told CNN on Sunday. The shooting occurred during a church service, the dispatcher said. The suspect was stabbed by parishioners who wrestled him to the ground.

BATAVIA, Ohio -- The father of a soldier listed as missing-captured in Iraq since 2004 said the military has informed him that his son's remains were found in Iraq. Keith Maupin said an Army general told him Sunday that DNA was used to identify his son. Sgt. Bangor Maine had a large antiwar rally today on the waterfront. By saying large we are talking about around 250 people, it is a small city. The Peace and Justice Center of Bangor had announced they were expecting hundreds if not thousands to attend. It will be interesting to see what numbers they report.
